Enjoy a sprawling estate in the heart of Carmel. This historic home, was built on one of the largest lots in town. Just 1/2 mile from the magical avenues of Carmel-By-The-Sea, and a scenic 1 mile drive to the beach and Pebble Beach Gate.
Erected for a rail road magnate in 1937, this home blends historic craftsman detail with modern updates. Set amongst beautiful oaks & pines, you'll be hard pressed to find a property with more charm and character on the entire peninsula.
The space
Every inch of this more than 6,000 SF colonial is magnificent. Custom woodwork throughout, display the detail from the original builders. Recent renovations to the kitchen, master bath and bedrooms seamlessly update these themes into a modern masterpiece.
This property is truly unique in Carmel for its grandeur. With its slate patio and landscaped back yard, the home can play host to corporate events or a gathering of your closest friends and family with ease. (Note: we are not hosting weddings at this time) Manicured pathways meander through the property where you'll discover hidden benches, a pond, a vegetable garden and even a full size volleyball court!

Summary: We stayed at Kevin's house in mid-August and loved it! The house and grounds are beautiful and were a very welcome retreat in the hecticness of Car Week; the house had everything our group needed and more. A huge thank you to Kevin, who was a wonderful host in the run up to, throughout, and after our stay. Couldn't recommend this property more!

Summary: This is a beautiful gracious home built prewar, but with all the modern conveniences. The grounds are large with wonderful gardens and well kept. Modern kitchen and baths, and beautiful furnished. The home was spotless, excellent linens and beds, and a well stocked kitchen. The hosts respond quickly and great communication. We can't wait to come again. This is a five star property and we loved to stay home!!!!

Summary: Our group of friends have traveled together annually for many years and Hatton Fields is one of the most beautiful properties we have rented. Usually we are in remote areas where there are not any restaurants nearby and we were looking forward to having many options and taking a break from cooking. However, we so enjoyed the peacefulness and beauty of the property and the amazing kitchen; we cooked and ate in for almost all meals. Walking the lush grounds was meditative and we shared many conversations and laughs around the fire pit several times a day. It's central location is accessible to many recreational activities within short drives or just walking to town and the beach. Kevin was a super host: responsive, friendly and helpful. (Hint: don't pass up his offer to tour the property with you when you first arrive. ) We definitely will be back!

Summary: We had a great time. Attentive property manager. We had some plumbing issues that were fixed in time but took a bit due to the busy season. Owners sent us a nice gift basket too which was appreciated. Recommend it.

Summary: Well-appointed property’s five bedrooms truly accommodate 5 couples, plus 2 kids (if with their parents in the gym/cottage), with indoor dining table, outdoor dining table, fire pit, hot tub, living room and TV room which each also accommodate ten adults and some kids on the side. Kevin was always helpful as host, grounds are lovely, manageable walk to and from Carmel, and lots to do in area. Main issue was that counter tops in spacious kitchen are marble, which is lovely but easily marred by citric acid, oil, red wine drips. We drank and often prepped at the dining table or outside, but were always worried someone would mess up. Still had a lovely week in this gorgeous family home.

Summary: location is phenomenal for easy access to downtown restaurants, shops and beach. the patio and property make it hard to leave the house as it really is the most enjoyable part... great for intimate gatherings of friends and families. kevin is the best host.
