Other Policy Request type : fine print, *requests for additional beds and or guests can be made and are subject to conditions and availability at time of booking, *we are open to special requests subject to availability, *the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and we provide basics like oil, vinegar, and spices. on arrival you will find fresh milk, juice, bread, condiments like butter, jam, vegemite, and nutella,/peanut butter. assorted tea and coffee to cater for all, *the house is run on filtered river water not for drinking. we provide 10litres of drinking water, *upon arrival you may be greeted by the resident dog "buddy" he is harmless, friendly to all, just has a love for car tires, don't be alarmed, *leading up to and during early harvest of almond and pistachio seasons (december - march) you may occasionally here neighboring farms gas guns and or licensed bird shooters on at times for pest control, *bio security please be aware we currently have fruit fly outbreak in region and local & state laws are in place to protect our produce. please refer to latest updates on the following link: https://fruitfly.sa.gov.au/traveling-restrictions/traveling-to-the-riverland, *boats and jet skis have to be launched from either waikerie/ramco boat ramps as our farming insurance policy does not permit entry or exit from our property directly into the river. upon arrival to our riverfront you can moor boats/jet skis for duration of your stay. unfortunately, wake boats are not permitted for use as it causes damage to all resident farming irrigation pumps that feed off this section of river, *when booking your stay with maranka homestead you accept and agree to all terms and conditions stated above and outlined in our t & c's.this property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties, please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. you can use the special requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation, guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian, managed by a private host

Positive: We loved the location, such an amazing scenic place and a beautiful homestead with great rustic charm. We loved how everything was provided for us from the pantry items (our daughter especially loved the box of chocolates and the coffee machine to make hot chocolates) to the kayaks and fishing gear. We loved our visits from buddy the dog, the kangaroos and birds. We loved how private and secluded the location is but also not too far from the supermarket and other shops, playgrounds etc. Communication with the host was excellent. We knew exactly where to go and what to do when vacating the homestead.
Negative: The only thing we didn't like was having to leave and not staying longer...... hopefully next time.

Positive: Our host provided a very clean, very well appointed cottage albeit a century+ old building in a relatively remote private location. Unfortunately the daily temperature during our stay was up to 42>43⁰C but the old house was air conditioned and very comfortable. Whilst we are familiar with the quieter regions of South Australia together with the vegetation and wildlife it would be an opportunity for overseas or city folk to experience a unique South Australian getaway
Negative: We would recommend the host maybe utilising a car cam video or a series of photos to explain the last kilometre of the entry drive as Google maps fail at the end of the bitumen road. This may be especially useful at night or wet weather and for drivers mainly used to city roads
