Positive: Very traditional hotel with a beautiful garden and great location. Stepping into this hotel felt like we were transported back in time and seeing the garden accessible from our room made it even more special. The food was also fantastic with very high quality omakase courses. The staff were super friendly and helpful which made the hotel very welcoming. We absolutely loved our stay.

Positive: Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff who did everything to make us feel very welcome. We had to adjust to having everything done for, the room and garden were exceptional and the staff did everything to make us feel very relaxed. The food at the hotel and around were delicious with lots of local delicacies. There is enough to do around yamaguchi so you don't get bored, however you are mostly at this hotel to relax and get away from the business of Japan.

Negative: If the weather is bad, you are limited in your options as the beautiful scenery and garden won't be as accessible.

Positive: Great location and facilities. The hotel itself has 400 years history but the facilities / decoration are new. About 10 mins walk from JR Yudaonsan station and 3 mins walk from the bus stop. Great public and private family bath.

Positive: The location was very good. We were visiting Hiroshima Peace Garden and Museum but stayed with you in Yamaguchi. The staff was exceptional (helping us with dinner reservations, serving meals and tending to our room, etc.).
