Positive: This is my second stay at Maxvshi, and both times I have stayed just over a week. There is a reason I went back! Ushguli and the area really is a magnificent piece of the world, and I enjoy as if a retreat, with hikes, great food and a calm lifestyle. Veriko offers both breakfast and dinner, and sources meat and cheese from her own animals and whatever vegetables are possible to grow in the mountains. Other veggies are sources as fresh as possible from the lowlands. The meals are varied and really delicious, and not at all expensive! Don’t worry about going hungry. Joni oftentimes offers something strong to drink as well ;) They also offer horse rides to the Shkhara glacier, guided by their son, if that’s of interest. I cannot recommend staying at Verikos enough! And stay for two nights or more, if you can.
Summary: I stayed for 8 nights, and enjoyed varied and delicious georgian food with hyperlocal ingredients. The hosts are amazing
