3 Bedroom House in Richfield

Situated in the center of Cleveland & Akron our Mid Century Modern Home is nestled next to the The Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We revitalized this peaceful retreat focusing on the original 1960's architecture & furnished the home with authentic MCM antiques mixed with Hollywood Regency Glamour. The massive kitchen overlooks a serene treed ravine & we have a Vitamix, Cuisinart Airfryer, Auto-bean-grinding coffee maker, French press, juicer, Kitchen Aid mixer available for the chefs! Enjoy a fire in one of the 2 indoor wood-burning fire places or outdoor fire pit and patio! Both kitchen & 2 full bathrooms - remodeled. Roku tv systems with Hulu, Netflix & Prime installed for your entertainment. 3 bedrooms PLUS a teen's loft that includes wooded views. The primary has a king size bed, MCM glamour-lit makeup vanity, our bohemian bedroom has a beautiful queen bed with canopy & makeup vanity, and another room has a queen bed nestled into the coziest nook overlooking the woods, decorated by our son with REAL WW2 antiques! The outdoor area is our favorite retreat with multiple entertaining areas & a 6+ person hot tub. A hidden staircase takes you on a hike into the wooded ravine. We also have 2 couches in both common areas for further guests. And for adventurers - NOT afraid of heights & NOT for those too young or elderly - we have a fantastic teen-oriented loft with Japanese-style queen mattress overlooking the woods! Plus, there’s a twin day bed in the outdoor igloo for glamping (weather permitting).
IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE:
-hot tub & liability waiver must be signed before renting
-Closet & dresser space is NOT available as we live in the home (except for when guests are here), we DO provide suit case racks & there are hangers in the laundry room with a space above the dryer to hang a few items.
-We do not throw all of our refridgerator food/ condiments away as we live here, you'll need to provide your own groceries - but if you forget something - you can borrow ours!
-We only have access to well water at this time which on occasion can have discoloration & smell after weather changes - we do have a great RO Water system - available for drinking.
-The 1960s home is on a slab, and therefore the HVAC systems are attached to the bedrooms. If you’re running the systems - you will hear them (not a problem if you like white noise)
-We also have a lovely cat living in the home when it's not rented.
*Photos last updated 2/28/21(Recent Updates not in current photos: Exterior of home has recently been painted modern black, both secondary bedrooms updated, hot tub, funky fresh wall paper accent walls, new kitchen stools/ lighting, new flooring - photos will be added soon of these updates!)

Summary: Very clean property with lots of open space indoors and out - perfect just for hanging out, eating or entertaining. Eclectic decorating, lots of light, modern appliances and technology - and a beautiful backyard natural setting. Highly recommend!!

Summary: The Outside of the property was enjoyable. The inside was a disappointment. Air Conditioning was poor, and it was hot and humid during our stay. The well water had a putrid odor during our 4-day stay. We had to live out of our suitcases because there were no closets or dresser drawers available to us. And the power was turned off for 4 hours on the day we arrive because the home owner had not paid their electric bill.

Summary: We loved our stay. Just perfect for our family of 4. The home is beautifully appointed and you can tell the family fills it with a lot of love and care. We loved the open concept and my daughter loved her “unicorn” room. They had everything we needed to be comfortable and cozy. We would love to stay here again next time we’re visiting family in the area.

Summary: We had a great time and loved our experience here! The house was beautiful and well kept - everything was working properly and we had no issues with appliances or anything else. My kids were especially excited with the kids bedrooms! We spent most of our time outside and the yard space is, in my opinion, the best part of the house! They have a beautiful outdoor space with a table for outdoor dining and netting around it that can be pulled back or not to keep out the bugs. We made a fire in the fire pit every night and my kids loved the outdoor swing. We also hiked down through the yard into the woods a bit, which was nice. Overall, this is a great house for anyone looking to explore the nearby national park or just want a house with a great outdoor space to gather with families. We would definitely stay here again!

Summary: The photographs online were beautiful and based on those we were hoping for a much more well maintained home for our holiday stay than what we experienced. The master bedroom as pictured online (a beautiful and sophisticated neutral room) was absolutely nothing like the actual bedroom (black, white and red with horrible lighting). There were no chairs in the family room or the living room as shown - which is important when you are looking to book a place to accommodate aging parents who aren't able to sink down into old sectional sofas. Watching a movie through streaming service only (note there is no cable provided) was only possible for anyone by nearly laying down on the sectionals because the TVs were mounted extremely high. The biggest issues overall was that the heating of the home and the leaking gutters over the front door. We could not get the heat regulated From sweltering bedrooms to freezing common area spaces it was an hourly issue for us throughout our entire stay. And we were lucky! Temperatures were moderate. If it had been very cold outside we would not have been able to stay. Even so there was cold rushing air from the garage, back hallway and the laundry room the entire time. Having rented from vrbo.com for many years, all over the country and world, I do not consider this home to be up to standards and would not recommend it to others.

Summary: This is such a spacious and fun house. My grandkids loved the Airplane/Train and the Sweet princess bedrooms. The main bedroom with a giant bed was so well done. The loft was used as another bedroom and all the soft comfy couches were so great after days of hiking in the Cuyahoga National Park which was literaly minutes away. The whole house had a peaceful, calm and roomy feeling. We really enjoyed our stay.
