Or, you can relax in the hammock under the Mighty Oak, whose majestic canopy is the result of over a century of growth.
While you’re less than fifteen minutes from the attractions and nightlife of old downtown Fredericksburg, you’re refreshingly free of the crowds. Even better, you’re an easy five minutes from Luckenbach Texas, with its history and live music, and if you’re hungry, Alamo Springs café is also just a few minutes south – it’s home to Texas Monthly’s “Best Burger in Texas,” and more live music. Of course, if you came for the wineries, you’ll find them close-by, as well as the award-winning Altstadt Brewery.
Charming living/kitchen/dining areas are found on the first floor along with a bedroom with a full-size bed and bath. The second floor features another bedroom with a queen sized bed, sitting area, HDTV television and a bath with a grotto shower. The well-equipped kitchen is ready for you to cook your own gourmet meals, and there is a Keurig coffee maker for your use. We love the character of well water, but guests seem to appreciate the reverse osmosis filtered water system, too. For the summer heat a new ac/duct work has been installed to ensure you can cool off nicely after your day of adventure.
All linens are provided, and Wifi and Roku TV is included, so you can stream your favorite television and movies.

Summary: Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice location, lots of wildlife. We had a blast staying there, but the stairs are very scary going up stairs, and back doors need work. Porch chairs are not comfortable, the ones in pictures aren’t there any more. Couch downstairs is terrible. Could be a very nice place if a little more attention was paid to the little things.

Reviewer Comments: My wife and I wanted a place not too close to town, and this was a perfect 10 minute drive out into the countryside for a nice, secluded home away from home. I would definitely consider renting here again.

Reviewer Comments: We had a nice time in this clean and cozy cabin.We did encounter a scorpion in the kitchen sink. Later we noticed another guest had noted in the "experience log" at the cabin, that they also found a scorpion(s) during their stay. We know this comes with the territory of TX and being in the country, but please take all precautions to rid the interior of these nasty pests. Again, nothing major, but it seems there may be a pattern considering another guest noted this also.

Summary: Cute cabin for a couple of days. Nice location in relation the wineries as well. I think the ad said a king and queen bed but both appeared to be queen. Otherwise it was clean and my wife loved the atmosphere and decor.

Reviewer Comments: The Might Oak Cabin is a great location if you are looking for a quiet country getaway, which we were. You can sit on the deck and watch the wildlife in the morning and listen to the owls and coyotes at night. Check in was easy with the directions provided. The cabin was relatively clean but badly in need of some maintenance. The downstairs bathtub drain was full of some white goo we just stayed away from it. The narrow treads on the stairs combined with the rickety railing makes climbing the stairs and adventure! An equally flimsy railing on in the loft was disconcerting. The latch on the deck stuck in the open position and took a good bit of jiggling to get it loose, and still proved difficult to open at times. Our biggest issue was being kept awake by the sound of rodents in the walls at night. There were large rodent traps under the furniture which was pretty disturbing. I get it that rodents are an issue in the country, but would it hurt to have an exterminator come to your rental property occasionally? It was good to get away for a few days, but next time we will choose another rental.

Summary: We took our twin 13 year old daughters here over spring break and they loved it. The property is advertised appropriately. I have nothing negative to say about this cozy cabin. We will definitely be back again.

Summary: Located in a quiet rural area, we had deer come visit while we were staying and could watch the stars at night. Close enough to Fredericksburg for an easy drive into town and surrounding wineries, and minutes from Luckenbach. Cute rustic place to stay for something different.
