Positive: The owerners are a couple. They are very nice and helpful. I needed to get the train early in the morning the next day. They helped me reserve a taxi and reschedule the breakfast at 7:15 am so that I could leave on time. I am moved by their great hospitality and friendliness. Highly recommend others to visit here.

Positive: The couple who run this quaint inn are so sweet. It’s simply amazing to see the wife scurrying around even tho she had leg injuries. Both were kind and sweet. During dinner, the husband shared stories about growing up in the house which was hundreds of years old. Rethatching the roof when younger. He also described how he and his daughter gathered food from the forest that were prepared for us. It was a lovely stay. Oh! And don’t forget to purchase souvenirs from their gift shop on the side of the house.

Negative: All was good. It’s a mom and pop operation. But I beg all foreign tourists to do your due diligence BEFORE going to any of the gassho villages. Study up not only on the area but also the culture. The husband said over 70% of the tourists are foreigners. Please be kind

Positive: This was a beautifull stay and great experience.The owner was with us while eating the dinner explaining the history,traditional music instruments and answering our questions about the village.I really raccomend this place to everyone who wants experience the rural living.

Positive: The couple was so nice and welcoming, felt like at my grandparents house. Best stay so far in Japan. Would love to come again, the room is beautiful, spacious. The food was exceptional, all the ingredients were locally sourced. Copious dinner and breakfast

Positive: I love Ainokura during the winter time, staying at Minshuku Yomoshirou was the highlight of my trip, the snow were covering the village makes it extra magical. The owner is very helpful and kind, they were trying to explain the history of the town, about their ancestor and how they use to live in the mountain in the past. It just nice to be able to stay in the Gassho House and learnt about the wonderful Japanese culture.

Positive: Wonderful time spent in Ainukura. A look of snow, trekking, culture and learning of life in Ainukura heritage village. Host been very good to made ours stay comfortable and providing information of the village and gasso houses.
