1 Queen bedroom with own bathroom.
2 other bedrooms; 1 with bunks and a single bed, the other with bunks. Shared shower room with new shower, washing machine and dryer. Separate toilet.
Open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area; 2 settees, log burner.
Heat pumps in the Queen bedroom and open plan area.
Sliding door leads to a new covered deck with steps leading to a good sized back garden area. BBQ.
Wifi.
The beach is close - less than 10 minutes walk or 2 minutes by car.
It is a "safe" sandy beach in that it has a very gentle slope. Plenty of walks.
Port Chalmers with eating places and shops is a 15 minute drive away, whilst the city of Dunedin is a 30 minute drive.
The Orokonui Wildlife Sanctuary is a 10 minute drive away.

Summary: The property is conveniently located near the beach for both beach and water activities as well as for rock climbing. The Roost had an excellent set up for our family;everyone had adequate bedroom space and the common area was comfortable and spacious with a large dining table and an adequate kitchen. We were able to borrow some items from the shed for use at the beach. The back yard was large and flat… perfect for children. Unfortunately, we did not use the deck, but it looks like a very place to enjoy an evening meal or a beverage before or after dinner. Our host, Ernie, was responsive to questions in a timely manner. We definitely benefited from the on-site washer and dryer. We appreciated having laundry detergent, dishwashing liquids and tablets, space heaters, extra blankets, hair dryers, etc, all available for our use. We would highly recommend the roost, and would love to return for a future visit.

Summary: Great instructions to get there. Excellent beach just round the corner. We swam and bodyboarded every day, rain or not, it was so warm. House perfect for our needs-enclosed deck, great back lawn. Everything pristine anf new. Had a lovely time

Summary: For the adults and small children in our group there was plenty to occupy us on our stay. There is a big garden with children's outdoor toys, well-equipped kitchen, and space for privacy with 3 bedrooms. We saw sea-lions and little blue penguins on the nearby beach, just a short walk away. The host was quick to respond to my queries, for which I am very grateful.
