A Luxurious Converted Olive Oil Mill in the Hills of Tuscany Near Siena with Private Garden and Swimming Pool
A beautiful recent conversion of an old Olive Oil Mill with spectacular views over a forested valley in the Tuscan hills a little south of the cultural city of Siena.
'Mulino Della Solaia' is of typical Tuscan construction, stone, chestnut beams and terracotta tiles and is situated in a tiny hamlet not far from the little village of Iesa. Although secluded the mill is tranquil but within reach of the bustle of Siena and the network of roads leading to other famous towns and hilltop villages of this most famous of regions.
Set over two floors the mill is an independent building with space for a huge living room with fireplace, a large dining room set by a large Kitchen fitted out with all the latest equipment. Using local and traditional materials 'Mulino Della Solaia' has been restored to very high standards, keeping the traditional exterior the interior is tastefully modern and fitted with air-conditioning throughout and the latest in lighting and heating. The living room with fireplace has ceiling height picture windows looking over the sun terrace which runs along the whole length of the house. The vast terrace with plenty of space for chairs and tables has views over the garden, swimming pool and the forested valley below. Off the living room at the foot of the stairs in the middle of the house is the original millstone dominating the entrance hallway. Leading off the hallway is another smaller living area and in the other direction past the front door is the kitchen. At the end of the mill is a ground floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom the whole ground floor being wheelchair accessible. Up the one flight of stairs a corridor running along the front of the house leads to the master bedroom at one end, two bedrooms off the corridor and another large bedroom at the opposite end of the mill. Each bedroom having en-suite bathrooms fitted with luxuriously modern bathroom fittings.

Summary: My family of 8 (all adults) with significant others traveled to experience the wine region and tour Siena and Florence. The Villa met our needs in every way allowing for beautiful sunsets, family meals, and relaxation by the pool. I recommend it highly.

Summary: This amazing property was absolutely fabulous. You will NOT be disappointed. Gaia, the manager was wonderful, and had the kitchen stocked for us when we arrived. She even got gluten free items for one member of our group. The town of Iesa is very small-- one convenience store, but no issues there. The location of the villa was convenient for getting to Siena, and the rest of Tuscany and close to wineries. We LOVED this place!

Summary: The property is absolutely AMAZING. It is so beautiful and well maintained that we hard time deciding whether we should stay at the Villa or go on day trips. The house was loaded. Nice selection of wine and alcohol as well as very tasty food awaited for us when we arrived. Gaia our concierge was excellent. Great attention for details. She even had Gluten Free food ready for our daughters who has Celiac. The pool was such pleasure. In all the house layout, design and amenities were great. The only reason we gave the location 4 start was because it was a bit hard to find at first, and the small town Isla has very little to offer (in terms of food shopping). They were closed for their summer vacation half the time we where there in Late June. NOT A BIG DEAL once we planed things a bit better on day two. ONLY 30 min from Siena. We do recommend that the mattresses will be changed. They are hard and not as comfortable as we are used to in an average USA hotel. WE LOVED IT, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Summary: We stayed at the villa for 5 days in June. The views from the villa are spectacular . Gaia, the conceirge manager was very helpful in recommending and arranging day trips for us and is very prompt in responding. The villa is spacious and a great place to relax . Highly recommend it to friends and family.

Summary: Just finished spending 10 days at Mulino della Solaia in May 2019 . The family and friends memories we have created here will last a lifetime. We had 5 to 8 family members and friends staying with us at the facility and there was more than enough room all for us. Everything in the villa is brand new and we really appreciated the a/c on warm days. The pool was a great way to relax and the surrounding landscape was beautiful.The facility is wonderful and we felt as if we were living as Italians for the 10 days. The purpose of our trip was to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our concierge Gaia was beyond gracious in making my wife's birthday celebration in Italy come true. It exceeded our expectations by far!!!! We hired a chef for three nights and it was well worth it. We were provided with a true italian meal with only the finest ingredients. Gaia was helpful in arranging day trips for us to some of the most beautiful area's in Tuscany. As well as arranging dinner reservations. Again a memory that will last a lifetime for our family. Siena is near by and many other local towns are easy to drive to and experience. A wine and food lovers paradise. This is a wonderful villa and I would not hesitate to reserve it. The concierge aspect of this villa makes the experience care free. Richard

Summary: This Villa went above and beyond our expectations, all is considered, planned, executed and delivered to perfection . The house immaculate and perfectly appointed, the services impeccable, the location is to die for, what else? somebody would say! We were expecting just a nice house, it was instead a fantastic stay.

Summary: A lifetime experience in a fantastic Italian Villa. The house has been recently refurbished from its foundations, all is new and yet the villa retains the feel of old times when it was an oil mill. We have been so comfortable, warmly welcomed and all the comprehensive extras made all the difference, it is not just a normal vacation rental but a true unique experience. The complimentary Concierge service was a bliss as we had nothing to worry about and we have been given precious suggestions and support, thank you Gaia! The location is peaceful and with outstanding views, yet near to Siena, the Chianti and Montalcino. We have recommended the Villa to all our friends. Recently advertised , it is a well hidden gem to discover. We are planning to return next year!

Summary: We are spending our holidays in Tuscany and we have chosen Mulino della Solaia to explore the area of Siena. The house is outstanding, finished elegantly and no detail has been overlooked. An elegant feel, modern and homely at the same time. Gaia welcomed us on arrival and gave us all the necessary information regarding the house and the area. She was always available for any information and provided very useful suggestions. Welcome basket, wine and spirits are a bonus that we enjoyed thoroughly. On our last evening we had a chef cooking dinner for us at the villa, the highest of our stay. Great property that we highly recommend.
