Return to the serene days of past generations with this beautiful nostalgic Northwoods log cabin. This is truly the Northwoods vacation spot of your dreams - enjoy peace and tranquility on this beautiful private lake to unwind and connect with nature as the world becomes more distant!
Boulder Lodge Cabin is a gorgeous, newly restored log cabin situated on a private peninsula featuring over 470 feet of beautiful lake frontage, sandy bottom shoreline for wading or swimming, a large boat landing on the property (free of charge), two fishing docks with benches; and stunning year-round lake views from every window - it is very much like your own private resort!
Our beautiful log cabin offers a wonderful way to experience the Northwoods of Wisconsin. The Cabin is located on beautiful Little Sissabagama Lake (locally referred to as Little Siss), which is in the heart of the northwestern woods of Wisconsin, in between the towns of Spooner and Hayward, and is an easy 2.5-hour drive from the Twin Cities. The surrounding area is considered by many to be one of the finest examples of the Northwoods due to the diverse landscape, dense coverage of distinct types of trees, and an abundance of fish and bird populations. From the forested shorelines, coves, islands, and winding narrows to the ethereal echo of loons - it is a Northwoods experience straight out of a novel.
Little Siss is a private 'quiet' lake with nearly no traffic and is great for boating (up to 130HP motors), tubing, fishing (class A Musky lake), kayaking, and swimming. Boulder Lodge is also great during the winter season - enjoy great ice fishing just outside your front door, snowshoeing on the lake, cross-country skiing, and an open campfire under the stars!
Boulder Lodge Cabin has been a longtime landmark with a rich local history; it served as a training camp for many well-known boxers, including Karl Ogren who won the Chicago Tribune Golden Gloves in the 1930s. The boxing camp (Boulder Lodge Cabin) also hosted Jimmy Braddock - which was the world heavyweight boxing champion in 1935, and a film entitled "Cinderella Man" produced in 2005 was based on his career.
The Lodge is over 3,600sf and comfortably sleeps up to 10 people. There are 2 full bathrooms and 1 half-bath, 4 bedrooms (3 with Queen-size beds, and 1 with a Twin-size bunk bed), a large loft area (with 1 Queen-size bed), a grand 2 story exposed log living-room (which hosted the boxing ring during the 1930s training camp), a large fully equipped kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances (including wine fridge/cooler), and a very large walkout basement that is ready for entertainment. Enjoy bringing back some fun memories playing an arcade machine (free of charge) with over 400 top arcade games of the 80's and 90's, or challenge friends and family to a game of pool, ping-pong, or shuffleboard table - guaranteed to be a big hit!
The Lodge is also loaded with several comforts and amenities including central heating/air-conditioning, beautiful work-of-art natural stone wood-burning fireplace, washer/dryer, wireless high-speed Internet (Wi-Fi), and High-Definition televisions featuring DirecTV and built-in DVD players in every room.
Bring your boat/pontoon - Boulder Lodge offers a large boat ramp/launch conveniently located just outside your front door. We also provide our guests with a rowboat and 2 kayaks free of charge. Motorized boat/pontoon rental is also available from a 3rd party vendor with free delivery and pickup to our docks.
We also allow up to three house-trained and well-behaved dogs, so, bring your furry family member(s) and enjoy the tranquility and privacy of your very own piece of paradise!

Summary: Our family celebrated Christmas this year at this beautiful cabin. It is spacious, with lots of room for people to do different activities (games, crafts, read, cook). The kitchen was fully stocked. The only thing we could not find is a corkscrew. The table was large enough so that the entire family could eat together at each meal. There are four bedrooms and a loft. My husband and I slept in the loft. Since the loft overlooks the main common area, we used the (provided) fan for "white noise" since the grandkids get up quite early! Downstairs there is a pool table, ping pong table and shuffleboard table. We played a lot of ping pong. It was cold down there, even though we turned the electric fireplace on in each room, but with a sweatshirt and slippers it wasn't too bad. The kids LOVED the video game table. We would definitely return to this cabin!

Summary: Boulder Lodge was a perfect location for our girlfriends annual retreat. The great room is spacious and very well suited for all 10 of us. Easy access for cross country skiing or snowshoeing. We enjoyed our stay.

Summary: Just what we were looking for. Enjoyed it immensely. The arcade machine turned out to be an unexpected bonus. Found out who the Masters were for sure. I enjoyed the many older books to page through. I could just imagine what life must have been like nearly 100 years ago. The setting was perfect for that.

Summary: Boulder lodge did not disappoint! Wonderful family get away with plenty to do and see. Spectacular views with lots to explore. The family game area with a pool table, ping pong table and shuffle board were a big hit! The kids and adults had fun with the arcade table and bringing back memories of the games from our childhood! The cozy decor and history of the lodge was great. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace with its warmth and ambience. We can’t wait to come back and try more fishing and exploring.

Summary: We loved our stay at the cabin, location is great. It has everything you could need to entertain yourself and the kids. Large enough for big groups but still feels cozy while giving everyone their own space. Would love to go back during fall, as the view from from the kitchen should be amazing

Summary: Great spacious cabin with all the extras!Our large family enjoyed the many inside things to do since we visited when the lake was frozen. Still, we found time to explore on the lake and do some ice fishing. We mostly stayed inside the cozy cabin and played pool, ping-pong, old-school arcade games, board games, watched movies, and had a great time together as a family.The kitchen is fully furnished, but we did have to wash dishes prior to using as other guests must not be as particular when washing up. ;) The view of the lake from the kitchen and dining areas is spectacular.Communication with property managers/owners was fantastic. Wifi was adequate for email and basic use, though it would be good to note that streaming is not possible due to weak signals. Prepare for that ahead of time and "go dark" for your stay. You won't regret getting off your phone or computer for a while anyway.We made some great memories and cherished our time with family--12 of us stayed (including three small children) and it didn't feel crowded.Overall, a wonderful cabin on the lake!
