Positive: The location was isolated, rugged & unspoilt... and the rolling waves literally fizzle to a halt almost in your lap... Definitely the spot to be if you love being close to the ocean!!😁😁 The kitchen is well equipped, and is a plus for longer stays.
Negative: 1. We were not made aware of the +-7Km rough dirt road leading to Eersterivierstrand - knowing this would possibly have changed our choice of booking location, or at least allowed us to use a more appropriate vehicle for our trip☹️. 2. We were not forewarned about the poor drinking quality of the tap water, (which was not palatable). Upon arrival there was no customary chilled drinking water available in the fridge, nor any ice with which to chill the drinks that we had brought for our stay. We had to wait until the next day to procure same back at a thrift store located 9km away (traversing the same dirt road mentioned above, there & back)😔 On the day of departure, we left some bought drinking water in the fridge, and "loaded ice-trays" for the next guests... 3. The unit could use a proper "deepclean"...
Summary: An "Enjoyable stay" that could have been "Epic"...

Positive: The location is incredible. The ocean is your front yard. This place was like food for your soul. Fully equipped with everything you need. Will be back for sure.
Negative: The house smelt like braai smoke when we opened the door and all the linen and towels also smelled like braai. But easily fixed with airing and just washed the towels in the washing machine.

Positive: Beautiful community in Eersterivier. The beaches are exquisite!
Negative: The road leading into the estate definitely requires some investment to make it more convenient. Or come through with a 4x4. Limited access to convenience stores so make sure to come with all your supplies. Rooms were spacious, but there were just way too many flies!!!
Summary: Eersterivier is beautiful! Braai evenings at Net Hier was the highlight with the most beautiful sunsets.

Positive: The location is great, the backyard is basically at the beach!
Negative: Yes, the location is amazing, but the appartment itself feels a bit outdated and, for sure, too small for more than 4 adults. Moreover, no airconditioning and the cleaning wasn’t done that well.
