Summary: We had a great stay at this property in September. It’s within walking distance of the town and is just as pictured/described online. The owners have lots of extra touches throughout the property to make it feel like home. It’s very clean with multiple tvs and stocked with games for family time. The owners also include lots of information/brochures for the local area. Highly recommended!

Summary: We stayed at Rivah Retreat for our Mom’s birthday weekend. Terrific location and wonderful amenities. Beds are comfortable and I was able to cook four nice meals in this kitchen. We like Kilmarnock for shopping as a walkable friendly town. We’re Episcopalians so we loved the service at Grace Episcopal Church on Sunday. We hope to return soon to the lovely home.

Summary: Our family had a wonderful time at this home. It was beautiful and clean and well-appointed, and the hosts generously provided lots of little thoughtful and unexpected amenities in the kitchen and bedrooms such as K-cups, extra toiletries, and more. We enjoyed exploring the local parks and nature areas as well as the small very walkable town of Kilmarnock. There were a lot of toys and games and also outdoor water things at the home for our toddler to use, and plenty of games for older kids or adults that we didn't have time to use. We gave 5 stars for everything without hesitating and we intend to return in future years. But in terms of feedback and heads-up to other renters, here are a few things: The garage has a lot of cool things for free: a projector, a VR set, a pool table, lawn games, and indoor kid mini golf objects; however, the massage chair, boxing game, and coin pusher are pay to use which was a bit disappointing and so we did not use them. The private back yard is beautiful and very sizeable but not fenced in. The listing does not say it's fenced in, just private, but we had misremembered (must have blurred together with another listing) and so we were sad to not be able to let our dogs and toddler run around freely as we had hoped. A significant number of the decorations throughout the home are Christian such as bible quotes or religious sayings on crosses, and there are bibles throughout the house and in the bedside tables. All of the messages have a positive tone but if anyone is sensitive to these sorts of religious cues due to your personal history just wanted to give a heads up. The two futons in the family room and the one in the garage movie theater have cool cupholders in the middle but they seem inexpensive, and not so comfortable I'd want to spend a couple hours on them. The backs are a bit low and they would not be long enough for an adult guest to sleep on easily (no big deal, it's a small home with two big beds, but since they are futons I wanted to specify). I'm tall and a little heavy and when I leaned back on them, they gave more than expected and I was afraid I would break them and so I didn't let myself lean back enough to really relax. We enjoyed watching a movie, but from a bed rather than the movie theater futon. There are awesome big screen tvs with streaming in both bedrooms and the dining room. Thank you for a fantastic week!
