Positive: My husband and I stayed at The Tides Inn while in town for a wedding, and we absolutely fell in love with The Tides Inn. We ended up with a water view room with a veranda. We really enjoyed watching the sunrise on our first morning there. It was absolutely beautiful and so tranquil. The staff was really inviting and friendly and very helpful with suggestions. They were also very accommodating. We arrived right around the time of our dinner reservation at Salt & Meadow. They were very nice and were willing to move it back a couple of minutes, so we could change before going to dinner. The property is absolutely stunning. I love how they connect with the ecosystem and environment of the Chesapeake Bay. While we were there, we had already decided to book another room for our anniversary in November, that's how much we loved it. We hope to make The Tides Inn a reoccurring destination for us, especially when we want a wonderful weekend away.
Negative: The only thing that was a little difficult was that the internet wasn't great, but they have free wifi, but either way, just be prepared for a slower internet when you go.

Positive: We have been driving down from Gordonsville, Virginia, to meet friends at the Tides Inn for lunch for several years, and this year, it worked out for us to stay. Everything was impeccable. Classic Southern resort pampering at its best.
Negative: We would like to have seen a couple of dinner options for guests needing less of a gourmet experience to go with the expert gourmet dishes offered at Salt & Meadow. I'm adventurous, but my husband isn't so much. Being able to choose steak or fish simply grilled with a simple side like summer roasted vegetables or asparagus to go with the potato puree would have been nice. We had lunch at Salt and Meadow but not dinner. We had dinner at Fish Hawk and a lunch too but would have preferred a fine dining experience at S&M for dinner. We still enjoyed our stay, and going forward, when meeting our friends who live in Kilmarnock, we will treat ourselves to a stay at the Tides Inn.

Negative: The AC was so noisy that we couldn't sleep and had to switch to a different room at 2AM. The noisy AC is not acceptable for the hotel of this rate. We spent over 500 dollars for one night but the AC sounded like a one in a motel.

Positive: Vista Suite was excellent, room was clean, well maintained. Valet parking was great. All staff encountered were friendly, courteous, and very helpful. All made our short stay very pleasant
Negative: Only complaint, and a minor one, was that our suite, room 209, was immediately above the restaurant and bar. We could hear the base music in our room all evening up until midnight. While it wasn't very loud, it was annoying enough to disturb sleep at times.
Summary: We were overall very pleased with our stay and intend to return in the future!

Positive: The views around the resort were magnificent! The staff were all so attentive and helpful. There were many comfortable sitting areas all around the resort and outside, we always had privacy from other guests. We loved our stay
Negative: Our room with two queen beds was very small, we are a family of five but we managed.
