Escape to the peaceful town of Montross and stay at our newly updated waterfront home, The Cove. You'll have great views from the house of the Potomac River out of the three sliding doors. Enjoy the outdoors from seating options on the deck, dock or the side yard, all show off the beautiful view. Our fully stocked kitchen will provide what you need for a home-cooked meal. Enjoy your meal at the large kitchen table with seating for 6 people. The living room has a large comfortable couch and two accent chairs. This space is ideal for gathering with your guests for conversations or watching TV on the 50' Smart TV. Next to the living room you have The Den. This space you have another comfortable couch and ottoman, here is the perfect spot to sip on your morning coffee and enjoy the sunrise. The room can be closed off with a sliding barn door, to be used as a work space with the provided desk and chair. On the first floor you'll find bedroom one with a queen bed. The half bathroom is right across the hall. The vanity is large enough for your toiletries, additional storage underneath. The upstairs level has the additional two bedrooms and full bath. One bedroom has a king bed, the other one full, and a twin trundle bed. The bedroom with the full/twin trundle also has a smart TV.
Montross in known for its Sharks Tooth Hunting, head to Sharks Tooth Beach for teeth and shell hunting, fishing and swimming. The beach is a just a quick 10 minute walk through the neighborhood. Parking is also available on site at the beach. Another fantastic option for shark teeth hunting is Westmoreland State Park there you will find a choice of multiple walking trails. Fossil Beach trail is perfect for families, take the 0.4 mile walk straight down to fossil beach for more sharks tooth hunting!
Montross Town Center is a only 20 minute drive away! No need to worry about traffic here! In Montross you will find great local restaurants including, Angelos Pizza and Seafood, Art of Coffee, Montross Brewery, Northern Neck Brewing Company (opening soon), NNK BBQ at The Barn. Summary: What a wonderful waterside retreat less than 2 hours away from the DC area! The cottage is open, airy, attractively decorated and was comfortable, clean, and completely equipped. We loved sitting on the deck overlooking the inlet, watching the egrets and herons look for snacks at low tide and ospreys circling overhead in the morning hours. The nearby town of Montross has a lovely coffee shop, fun brewery, and a yummy Italian seafood restaurant, in addition to some cute antique stores. We also enjoyed Westmoreland State Park as well the community’s own lake, which has a swim platform off of a small beach where our son got to use his stand-up paddleboard.

Summary: Lovely property at an affordable price. We enjoyed the view of the water, watching the birds, and digging for shark's teeth at the beach right near the house. We found so many here compared to the other more popular beaches! There was plenty of space for us to spread out and relax in this house. We would definitely enjoy coming again.
