Negative: We were disappointed with the overall cleanliness of the cottage. It was rather dusty and in need of a good clean.

Positive: Lovely area, very quiet and peaceful.

Negative: The house was not very clean, the beds were dirty like they hadn't been changed. The kitchen and bathroom had mould on the walls and plates and cutlery were not clean. The house is very draughty and difficult to heat, it would have been great if it was heated prior to our arrival. No parking, although the advert said there was private parking on site, we had to cross roads with luggage which wasn't ideal.

Positive: It was in a great location, lots of shops nearby but also very quiet and pretty. It had a good sized garden. The house was cosy and had pretty much all you needed. It had a keysafe which is always handy. All the rooms heated up really quickly. It was one of the only places I managed to find online that had 2 double beds and a garden which was necessary for our stay.

Negative: The ad said it had parking. There was available parking nearby but not actually a space outside of the property which made it quite difficult to get our belongings into the house on arrival and again to leave with our belongings to take them back to the car. There was a train out the front which was lovely but to cross the tracks with lots of bags to get to the property was quite difficult so I just feel like this should be mentioned on the ad and maybe a clearer instruction on where to park.

Summary: Very basic but comfortable and suited us very well

Positive: We loved the quaintness and abundance of character of the cottage, the old traditional slate floors, stone walls and wood burner. The beds were really comfortable and the cottage was warm when we arrived.

Negative: We needed bigger saucepans.

Summary: A perfect spot for walkers with muddy boots and dogs who want to relax and not worry about carpets and the like.

Positive: Fantastic little cottage,really takes you back to the basics, the building has a lot of history to it. It was originally built for storing gunpowder for the mines. I’m glad they have kept it very rustic, it really does give you a nice location and a lot around todo with plenty of shops

Negative: More oven dishes but we still managed
