Needing a rural place to get away? This cozy 1 1/2 story, 3 bedroom, 2 bath house that sleeps 8 has a front row seat to the beauty of The Ohio River. Relax on one of our decks, relax river side by the outdoor fire pit, or watch the barge traffic from inside. The house sits within minutes of The Hoosier National Forest offering hiking / fishing and a peaceful atmosphere, 50 minutes from Holiday World, and 55 minutes from French Lick. (Pet Friendly / Strong WIFI / Gas Grill, NO WATER ACCESS)
This house offers three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. There's also a loft with a full sized futon if needed. The kitchen is fully stocked (except for food of course) for all your cooking needs. There is a second driveway on the other side of our road that is available for extra cars or to park a boat. Located about 50 minutes from Holiday World.
The front door has a code lock and you will be given your own code prior to your stay. As there is no need for anyone to let you in, you can arrive at any time. There are four spacious decks to choose from in the back of the house, each with an amazing view of the Ohio river, especially at sunrise. The lower deck has a built in fire pit that is perfect for roasting marshmallows.
Guests have access to the entire property.
To get the peaceful views like this you know you must be in a rural area. With rural comes with a bit of a drive to every where you want to go, and spotty cell phone coverage due to the large rolling hills. If rural your thing, this is the perfect get away!

Summary: Beautiful peaceful location. Enjoy the remote location and beautiful expanse view from the home deck. Nice to sit out there enjoying the quiet,sounds of the river and passing freight barges. Near many nature areas with hiking and nature. Closest large town would be Tell City with an approx 25 mile drive one way. If you like peace and quiet, nature and a beautiful river view this is the place. This was our 4th visit and won'tbe our last.

Summary: Really nice house with a great view. Clean and well stocked with towels. Has everything you need in the kitchen for cooking. Location is remote and in a quiet place. Will definitely be back.

Summary: We chose to stay in a more rural area to get away this year. It was definitely rural. There are just a few places by the house but we didn’t see anyone. There is a convenience store about 15-20 min away but other than that, it’s a good 45 min to civilization. Very nice river frontage. The only downfall of the river were the barges traveling up and down the river at night. Very nice to watch but some of us lost sleep due to the noise. The house definitely had everything we needed.

Summary: Amazing 5 days! The home was lovely! Very clean. The views were so beautiful. I have stage 4 breast cancer and the last year and a half have been difficult. This is just what the doctor ordered. My husband and I found a calmness we haven't had for a long time. We just stayed in the house the entire time to enjoy the beauty around us. Very quiet and so serene. Can't wait to rebook!

Summary: Our third time staying at this beautiful location. Away from the sounds of the city, and congestion. Loved sitting deck watchiing the river barges, and the Ohio River. Lots of nature and took a few long walks along the river. Very rural and winding roads with hilly terrain. Larger Tell City about 25 miles from the cabin. Went there for some shopping and ate at the Patio Steakhouse. Great atmosphere, clean and a delicious lunch buffet. Thanks To Shane and his wife for providing such a lovely home for guests to enjoy

Summary: Just the ticket for a quiet, restful week. Loved watching the wildlife and river traffic! Plenty of bedrooms to stretch out. Two full baths and laundry area allowed us to make ourselves right at home.

Summary: My family and I were extremely disappointed in this rental property. For the amount of money that was spent to rent this property it was not worth the price. First off the outside appearance needed a major scrubbing and over care. The side walk leading up to the front door was extremely uneven and you could easily trip walking up to the front door. It would have been nice to have a handrail going up to the front door. T
