Positive: This is one of the most beautiful places we stayed. The view is stunning, and the family home stay is extremely warm and sweet. We looked for a quiet and traditional place to stay and this was perfect. The nature is breathtaking, and the old Likir monastry as well. We enjoyed the company of the owner and his family a lot, and they were always helpful and positive. The traditional home cooked food was delicious and felt healthy and made with love. Shtenzin is also a trecking guide, and we would love to take trekks with him if we had the time. We are looking forward for next time. We heartily recommend this place ♥️

Positive: Great location. Excellent view on Likir valley from seating area. Room is very nice decorated with traditional look and feel. Stanzin is organizing hikes and took me a full day trip. He knows a lot and is pleasant company. His wife cooks great meal which i had in the sitting room.
Summary: Great locarion and excellent hiking opportunities. Meals are great.

Positive: This year, when I arrived in Leh, I was disheartened to see that it was not the same quiet and relaxing place that it was 8 years ago when I last came. Luckily, I found what I desired in the nearby village of Likir at The Old Likir Guesthouse: a place where I could immerse myself in the tranquillity of Ladakh’s nature and in the spirit of its people. Stanzin and his family offer an experience that, in my opinion, should be sought by most tourists in Ladakh. They offer comfort, but not at the expense of their traditional way of life nor environmental considerations (at a time when the whole region is under ecological stress). The place is clean whilst still maintaining a connection with nature, and they give great service without the feeling of being in another touristic hotel. Thats not to mention delicious Ladakhi food (!) and the unbeatable views of Likir’s farmlands and the surrounding mountains. I visited Likir and the guesthouse at the end of my trip. During that time I felt a part of the family and I wish I could have stayed for longer. Stanzin is simply a great guy. He offered me advice on trekking (for which he is an expert), educated me on the region’s wildlife, and shared wonderful insights about Ladakhi culture. A great person to have a conversation with, under that stars, sitting on his rooftop at night. When I come back to Ladakh I will head straight to the Old Likir Guesthouse. Thank you Stanzin and family!!

Positive: Everything about Old Likkir Traditional Farmstay was exceptional. Starting with Stanzin and his family's hospitality, which is something to cherish. The room and the attached open space on the first floor of Stnzin's traditional house is the best one can get. It gets sunlight throughout the day, which adds to the comfort. Stanzin maintains his place really well and the room, linens, blankets were exceptionally clean. He also provides a large heater at night and that makes the room more than cosy. Dinner and breakfast are really wholesome, good and healthy, where you get to eat with Stanzin's family in a traditionally designed dining room within Ladakhi decor. There are two kitties at his place, and the older male one is a real cuddling treat. The village Likir is very beautiful, and Stanzin's place is right behind the famous Likir monastery, constructed in the eleventh century. Likir monastery, has quite a commendable collection of old Tibetan and Ladakhi manuscripts, exceptional bronzes and old murals. Stanzin's place is surrounded by farmlands and small streams away from the hustle and bustle of any highway. There's a traditional Ladakhi pottery workshop nearby, which preserves a many centuries-old Ladakhi tradition: disappearing fast in the age of industry-manufactured ceramics and pottery. The pottery place has a vibe of its own, and is a recommended visit. Likir is not too far from Alchi, so if one wants to visit Alchi, Likir is a better place to stay than Alchi, which is bit more hip and crowded after the publication of the Hirmer book on its murals. Stanzin can arrange a car, and the driver Norbu is a really good person, who himself was a Lama for ten years- for visits to nearby monasteries or to the airport in Leh. The village is also situated at a considerable height which makes the stay all the more peaceful.
Negative: There's nothing that I can complain about. Everything was awesome. Can't think of anything that I didn't like.

Positive: the location is the best you’ll find in Likkir, so if you want to avoid the touristy stuff/accommodations in leh and wanna opt for a quiet relaxing stay in a quaint old village, Stanzin’s place is the one for you
