1 Bedroom Villa in Old Man Bay

Tucked away in a corner of Northside, Grand Cayman, is the quaint little community of Old Man Bay, where time has stood still. This is the authentic Cayman, no crowds and the only thing you'll hear are the ocean waves.
The 2 side-by-side 1 bedroom villas are identical in layout. The main floor has a living room with queen size sofa bed, flat screen TV, fully equipped kitchen with Dishwasher & powder room. The spacious bedroom is on the 2nd floor and has a full ensuite with a large shower.
Behind the house is a private patio, picnic table and BBQ.
Just across the street and down a short path, no more than a 3 minute walk, is the beach; likely deserted. You can walk for miles in either direction. Children will need reef shoes if they go in the water. Snorkelling here is good.
We provide beach chairs and umbrellas as well as a cooler.

Summary: This property was just what we were looking for. A place to stay and relax for 14 days away from the busy tourist areas. How wonderful for us that the condo was comfortable and stocked with absolutely everything that we needed. The beach is a short walk and great place to find treasures (shells and sea glass). A rental car is a must for exploring. We would definitely stay at the property again!

Summary: Old Man Villas provided us with a comfortable, quiet place- well appointed recently upgraded kitchen, great A/C unit with upstairs and downstairs controls, even a washer and dryer. Within minutes of Rum Point and the East End, as well as the wonderful Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Garden. If you are looking for a laid-back, low traffic area of Grand Cayman, this is the perfect place.

Summary: I feel confident this has got to be the best villa on the island for the price! We loved our stay at Old Man Bay #2. This home is located across from a beautiful beach (bring your water shoes because it is rocky but also a great place to find sea glass) and just down the road from Rum Point and several fantastic attractions like the Botanical gardens (a must see) and the Crystal Caves. The home is beautiful - modern and spotless. We loved the screened in porch for relaxing in the evenings and the fantastic indoor AC for those hot days. The best part was the home is fully stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay - plenty of beach towels, snorkel gear, beach chairs, and a fully stocked kitchen. There was even a spare air mattress. We just loved our stay and would love to come back. As mentioned, you do need a rental car.

Summary: This is a small villa but had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and having a full bath next to the upstairs bedroom as well as a half bath downstairs worked well. The spiral staircase is a little tricky but they have made it as safe as possible and it was not a problem. The area is quiet and we loved the large screened porch and had outdoor space to use too. It's just a quick walk out to the beach, not really a place to swim but you can float in the water and use water shoes to walk the beach. Grand Cayman Island is surrounded by a reef, so there are fewer places to have a good swim than we expected, being on an island. We were less than 5 minutes from the amazing caves to see, 10 minutes from the parrot center, within 15 minutes of a good swimming beach, 20 minutes from starfish point and great vendors for excursions. We were 45 minutes from George Town and 7 mile beach and 55 minutes from the Turtle Center - that was not as convenient to go to but we liked being away from the 'fray'. The property owner was ever so kind to us, came to visit and ask if we needed anything, asked for suggestions to make his little villa even better. AND he brought us coconuts, cut them open so we could have coconut milk. That was above and beyond our expectations.

Summary: This by far has to be my most favorite VRBO experience EVER! Super Clean, fully stocked kitchen etc. Communication was top notch. And the beach area across the street… we saw the same lady walk by every day and no one else! If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, this is it! We will return for sure ASAP!
