Positive: The cooked breakfast on the Roof Terrace, is spectacular. The beach is about 50metres away. It is in the heart of Kalkan harbour with shops, cafes & restaurants surrounded this accommodation.
Negative: The draw-side of this location is that you have to put up with the loud music of the night life of the harbour as it is in the heart of the harbour! This accommodation is also surrounded by pubs & clubs!! Too much loud music to get a decent night rest!! The accommodation does not have or provide a kettle, supplies of tea bags, cups & saucers for an occasion of private cup of tea on the balcony. The cleanliness around the toilet bowl needs to be improved.
Summary: Location & daily cooked breakfast was perfect except for the daily evenings of loud music😡

Negative: There was very loud music from the bar next door where we couldn’t sleep both nights the owner of the old trading house did apologise which was very thoughtful

Positive: Yussuf the owner was a fantastic host......nothing was too much trouble , and him and his dad went above and beyond to make our stay a great experience. The view from the upstairs restaurant was just like the gorgeous photo.....we really enjoyed having our (really good ) breakfast up there. Bosch air-conditioning, extra cold mini fridge , TV, double power shower , loads of coathangers in wardrobe. The restaurant's food was really good - i particularly enjoyed the sea bass. Our favourite 2 restaurants were Mussaka , opposite JD sports , upstairs.....which was superb (they have a woman constantly baking super fresh warm mini bread in front of you) , and Trio - another gem with excellent cocktails...the Persian Dream was nectar , recommended by Yunuz !!. Also the Pier coffee shop had the best prices , lovely food ( not the pasta though) , try the frozen melon drink - refreshing. Tip - £55 each gets you an all day boat trip on the big and spacious Falcon , which is in the small marina....it's CASH only. They have a bar on board to buy drinks. Lunch is included in the price. Kalkan is a small and pretty hidden mini resort.
Negative: Bring earplugs for bedtime, as the bar down the street blasts out (decent!) tunes from around 10pm to 2am....pretty annoying. Shower was slow to drain. Waiters were painfully slow in the restaurant....15 minutes after we sat down to breakfast , almost every day , they brought water. After 20 minutes, our coffee arrived. They need to be better. The resort is VERY steep to walk around - people who are unfit or with mobility issues should think twice before coming here. The staff at the fake JD sports were very rude....they weren't getting our money , the way they spoke to people. High prices were a bit of a surprise.....lots of people going to Greece instead. Flights , accommodation and food were all expensive compared to other places.
Summary: Yussuf and his Dad were very helpful and friendly hosts.

Positive: Excellent location. The owner was extremely helpful and helped us to find parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate dinner at the rooftop resturant and the food was so fresh and tasty. The resturant had a gorgeous view!

Positive: The staff at the old trading house couldn’t have done any more for us. We arrived late at night and struggled to find the hotel in our hire car. The staff came to find us, took us to a carpark and helped carry our bags. Rooms are basic but clean and great value for money. Breakfast on the terrace was amazing. Fantastic food with a view across the bay. Fantastic location right in the centre of town which does mean there is a bit of street noise but nothing that stopped us all getting a great nights sleep.
Negative: The staff, its location and the amazing views from the pretty roof terrace.

Positive: Location right in centre of town close to harbour . Breakfast brilliant on roof top terrace. Manager and staff exceptional and willing to help
Negative: Only 1 major thing spoiled the stay and that was not the fault of anyone at the hotel . There was tremendously loud music played in disco club next door upto and beyond 3 am . We were told it stops at 1 but it did not . So I would recomend earplugs .
Summary: Beautiful character hotel with friendly staff. Shame about the loud music till dawn!

Positive: As we were the only guests at that late season time, the staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. If you embrace the full Turkish breakfast, you won’t be disappointed. Offered the speciality menemen, that was an extra bonus and now much missed.
Negative: Out of their control and the flip-side of the wonderful central location over-looking the harbour, the late night music at roof top bars needed ‘navigating’. Understand timings, 3-6 am was a wonderful time and, ahead of breakfast, after the morning prayer too: 6.30-9.30. Bring your ear plugs!
Summary: Fourth visit to Kalkan, the first in catered accommodation. We loved it.
