Summary: Our accommodation was excellent, with a roomy bedroom and lots of space in the garden to sit out on an evening. Kitchen facilities were excellent and we had no trouble using them. The showers was brilliant - powerful and lots of hot water. The surroundings were very rural and gave us a full immersion into local life with the church across the valley broadcasting services all week and the sounds of both local agricultural activity and what sounded like hunting in the forests

Summary: It was a very peaceful house and location and we enjoyed our stay a lot. The only thing that wasn't quite perfect were the bed and pillows, which could have been a little bit more comfortable. We would absolutely go back

Summary: A medical emergency and some lacklustre weather cast a bit of a pall over this trip, but we really couldnโ€™t find fault with Casita del Sur. The house is stunning, and very, very well equipped. It really had everything we needed and even a few things that we might have needed, such as a torch. It was beautifully furnished and the renovation had been done with great sensitivity. The bed was very comfortable โ€“ never a given with holiday lets โ€“ and the absolute silence at nights meant that we slept long and well. The countryside around Casita del Sur is stunning and, in this day and age, there was something magical about hearing nothing more strident than birds, insects and the occasional cow. The gardens are beautiful and well thought-out. Due to the poor weather, we only made it to the beach once, but there were plenty of other things to do within an easy drive. The local people we met couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Anna and Roger were excellent hosts โ€“ they just went about their business and we knew they were there if we had questions. That said, it was lovely chatting to them when our paths did cross!

Summary: I stayed at O Curralino (Casita del Sur, specifically) in late April 2019. It was a fantastic home base for my time in Spain. The cottage is part of a renovated farmhouse. It's like staying in a 17th century dwelling with 21st century amenities. The house sits near the middle of a classic Spanish valley with forests and farmlands on the valley floor and ancient small villages carved into parts of the valley walls. It's a beautiful setting and one could spend several lovely days just hiking around the valley and enjoying the grounds of the cottage itself. The locale feels very rural but is actually within easy driving distance of mid-sized towns -- like Morana -- and about 25 minutes from Pontevedra. Santiago de Compostela is about 45 minutes away. Beaches and parks are not far as well so it's great central location. O Curralino is owned by a lovely family who live on the grounds. I can't wait to revisit with my family.

Summary: Oh Lord, what should we (my wife and our twin 10y old girls) say about our (too short) 2 weeks at โ€žO Curriloโ€œ? If we make it to positive we would probably struggle to find a new โ€œdateโ€ for the next trip there with Ann, Roger and Eviโ€ฆ What we can say that every info which is given in the description is 100% correct and that the house was also the best equipped we ever went to. (Maybe bring a single sharp knife .. ;-) ) The landscape is so great it was so quite (next to the barking dogs sometimes โ€“ but compare to dam noise of cars, planes, trains or whatever I prefer these ones)! The garden is so nice and the small river behind the house was great and we saw and heard so many interesting animals โ€“ the kids loved it! When you got familiar with the orientation and directions you found everything you need quite close by. Also when the wheatear was slightly of there were so many options like hiking, drive to Pontavedra or Santiago. The beaches and the river lakes were all great! And the local tips from Roger and Ann were all spot on. And we all are very happy to meet them all with the lovely Evi and Truffel (!) And one of the very best things from a German point of view was that we saw none of them. In total I guess when the Lord took the time to create some places he could rest โ€“ I guess this is one of them. On the day we had to leave my 2 girls were crying due we had to leave this lovely place and the first time of my life I had to as wellโ€ฆ

Summary: My friend and I stayed in casita del sur for 8 days. we didn't have a car. We came from the airport in santiago and got to Padron by train. There we took a taxi to this casita. This casita is beautifull renovated. It has all the luxury you want, but the old typical Galician style is remained. Renovated with a Galician heart. Perfect kitchen, all tools available, great bathroom, great terrace, garden, great livingroom too which we didn't used because of the great weather. Ow yes, and a supurb sleepingroom with a great bed!! Never slept better on a holiday! The casita is surrounded by a great garden, the back yard is nice to chill in, with a nice open view, the front yard is full of plants and flowers. Nice small gardening details. :-) We had no car but two mountainbikes were available. We did most by feet. In Soar, a small village nearby (4km) is a small grocery. All basic food we needed we found there. A very nice shopkeeper as well, had a small bar inside where we tasted Albariรฑo and Ribeiro. Too much in fact. Nearby is also a great pub: bar Giao, typical Galician bar. Nice owner as well, Javi, and very good wine and food. Had a lot of fun there. Nature is lovely there, we made loads of walks, all nearby because we had no car. You don't have to go far to enjoy the beautifull nature en small villages. The owners of the cottages were on holiday, so we had all information and help from Pili, a neighbour of the owners. She was lovely, she took very good care of us. She gave us a lift to Rio Jerez, a 15km from Rebon the Arriba. What a spot, what a place, what a river. Thank you for that Pili. We spend there one day completely alone... it was magic. And also many walks to make alongside the river. We walked also to Santa Lucia de Moraรฑa (7km) , where we took part of the festa do Carneiro. And at night we enjoyed lifemusic of Milladoiro, a popular Galician Band, which was a great surprise. Great party in the town. Then we got back by feet, which was a bit harder. Luckely we got lift. And it was always nice to get back in the casita, where we could sit at the table, outside, or laid back in the garden watching millions of stars. After one week, my friend and I realised we had to come back to see more... for the lovely casita, the area, the walks, the food, the wine the Gallegos, the culture. Thank you Pili for taking care of us, and thank you Anna and Roger for the lovely casita on a lovely spot. We come back. Sylvie and Hilde

Summary: We stayed in Casita del Sur in early September and had a wonderful time. The property is ancient, but simply and carefully restored. It is well equipped, quite spacious and spotlessly clean. There is a large bedroom, with a very comfortable bed (up a steep but short stone staircase) and a powerful shower in the bathroom. A pretty and fragant front/side garden leads round to a shaded vined patio which gives way to a larger meadow leading down to a lush river and wooded area. The surrounding valley is really beautiful and there are plenty of things to see and do both nearby and a little further afield. Pontevedra has a beautiful and very lively medieval centre and Cies Islands are a little slice of tropical heaven just off Vigo. Local seafood and wine are exceptional. Roger and Anna were lovely hosts and the information pack provided in the villa (local attractions, routes etc) was very helpful. A real gem - we were sad to leave.
