Positive: The photos dont do it justice. Its a beautiful cottage with gorgeous views and immaculately clean. Very modern and comfortable. Beds are so comfortable. Thank you

Positive: Lovely accommodation with everything you need. A real home from home. The host met us on arrival and was lovely.

Negative: The double beds were quite small. It rained whilst we were there and all we heard all night was the gutters dripping water onto the gravel as we had the windows open due to it being warm.

Positive: Quiet. Spacious. Good heating. Tea coffee milk and biscuits supplied. Clean. Good facilities and equipment supplied.

Negative: Shower cubicle dated. Shower head wasn’t correct for bracket. Disabled seat in shower rusty. Water dangerously hot. Left over food and cleaning supplies in kitchen cupboards from previous guests - stuff in food cupboard smelt. Asked to leave used bedlinen in bathroom. I don’t strip beds in paid for accommodation. Mattress protection was cheap, basic, slippery and hot. Very personal approach to decorating the property. Strong smell from multiple air fresheners. Location in middle of farmyard.

Summary: Disappointing, but clean and adequate accommodation.

Positive: We came to stay with our three boys, two of whom are severely autistic, and I honestly can’t praise this place enough. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at ease. The environment was incredibly safe, clean, and well-maintained, which made such a difference for our family. Finding somewhere that feels secure and comfortable for children with additional needs isn’t always easy, but this place truly exceeded our expectations. The amenities were fantastic and clearly thoughtfully provided. Having things like an air fryer and slow cooker available made a huge difference during our stay, especially when catering to specific routines and preferences—it really felt like a home away from home. One of the highlights for us was the location. My eldest absolutely loved being able to watch the farm animals across the road—it brought him so much joy and kept him happily occupied. It’s such a peaceful, scenic setting, and the photos really don’t do it justice. We were expecting somewhere quite small based on the listing, but in reality, the space was more than big enough for all five of us. We never felt cramped, even over the long weekend. Overall, we had such a positive experience, and it’s rare to find somewhere that ticks so many boxes for our family’s needs. We’re already looking forward to coming back again very soon. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Positive: Incredible location, out in the countryside with sheep and horses and only one other house nearby, but also within easy walking distance of Gretna town centre. Beautiful interior of the house, very clean and comfortable. Just a lovely Scottish cottage.
