Nestling in its own private valley at the the end of a secluded track, lies Le Moulin du Gravier.
Although less than 20 minutes from Bergerac airport and the A89 Autoroute, this cottage benefits from a totally secluded and peaceful location in the tiny hamlet of St Martin des Combes, amongst trees and in its own private valley. the property overlooks a beautiful natural water source which is visited frequently by a Kingfisher. There is an abundance of wildlife and birds and in summer, many butterflies visit for the wild orchids that thrive in the surrounding fields.
The building itself benefits from being all on one level, making it suitable for people who may have limited mobility and comprises a large dual aspect bedroom with king size bed. Unfortunately both the bedroom and bathroom do not offer sufficient width to allow wheelchair access. The large living area has a well equipped kitchen and a two sofa sitting area with flat screen TV and a wood burning stove. French doors open out onto a terrace with water source and views over paddocks (BBQ provided). The shower room with sink and toilet are fully tiled and benefits from underfloor heating.
Further accommodation for two friends/family is available in our Shepherds Hut which comprises a rustic Kitchen Diner, private terrace and full bathroom facilities.
The swimming pool is also walled and private with its own solar shower it is exclusively for the use of guests.
The cottage is conveniently situated between Perigueux and Bergerac.

Summary: The gite was beautifully presented and fully equipped. The location was a good distance to Bergerac and local restaurants. The salt water-pool was cleaned and maintained on a daily basis and was a nice haven away from the gite. The owners Michael and Louise were a lovely couple and a wealth of knowledge and were able to recommend local amenities and sites. A truly exceptional week in the beautiful country side of S W France.

Summary: What an amazing holiday and an amazing location. The property is truly outstanding, cosy clean and very private. The pool has the 5 star wow factor, clean warm and totally private. We felt terrible that Mike and Louise did not use it when we were there as they respect total privacy despite the heat. Mike and Louse are brilliant hosts, friendly and easy to get on with. We thoroughly enjoyed their company as well as Daniel who is the caretaker. Love the dogs and the quiet location. We had an amazing time. Thank you. Pete and Jean

Summary: Lovely cottage with excellent equipment etc and all very smart. Very comfortable bed. Peaceful location - delightful to sit on the terrace and watch the local wildlife. Great pool: warm and clean and secluded. Really good holiday area with excellent restaurants.

Summary: The cottage is beautiful, situated in the middle of forest, meaning it was extremely peaceful and quiet. Just what we wanted. It is extremely well furnished, spacious and comfortable. The American fridge/freezer and range cooker were great. The pool was fantastic, and very welcome during the extremely hot weather. Daniel, the live-in caretaker, was the soul of discretion, but always available if needed. Would highly recommend.

Summary: The gite is in a secluded position at the end of a long track and is very peaceful set amongst fields and woodland. It's extremely comfortable and well equipped, absolutely ideal for a complete get-away-from-it-all holiday whilst still being in easy reach of many towns, villages, restaurants and activities to please everyone. The pool is an excellent size and for exclusive use by the gite guests, with the most comfortable relaxing chairs you could wish for! If we had any questions or needed anything the friendly, but discreet, owners were on hand as much or as little as we needed. We had a wonderful holiday in St.Martin and have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful property. If, in a year so's time, we decide to re-visit the Dordogne this is definitely be the gite we would want to book again.

Summary: Our expectations were exceeded from start to finish, the gite was fantastic with everything you could possibly need, and the pool really did have the wow factor. Clearly lots of hard work and thought have gone into creating what is a perfect location if you just want to chill out in beautiful surroundings with nothing but peace and quiet. I can honestly say its the most relaxed we've both been on a holiday. Michael was very helpful and met us on arrival day after which Daniel, who was a gem throughout was always on hand if you needed anything. Great week and I'm sure we'll be looking to return sooner rather than later. Ron & Karen
