This beautiful, cozy cottage on its' own waterfront lot has
water access and ocean frontage. The cottage is located in Ostrea Lake, Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada.
We are 25 kms. from Martinique Beach, longest sandy beach in NS.
5.4 kms. long.
We are a short drive to Clam Harbour (32 kms.) and Lawrencetown Beaches. Surfers hang out at Lawrencetown Beach, 45 kms. away.
It's a well known, world famous surfing domain. They are all Provincial Parks. Taylor's Head Beach, another gorgeous Provincial Park is 45 minutes away.
We are 60 minutes from Halifax International Airport. (YHZ).
We are 45 minutes from Dartmouth, NS.
We are 55 minutes from Halifax, NS. drive into Dartmouth, park and take the ferry to Halifax. Stroll the famous Boardwalk. Visit Citadel Hill.
Have lunch on the Boardwalk at one of the great restaurants, pubs.
We are a 10 minute drive from amenitities in Musquodoboit Harbour (Sobeys, Liquor Store, Hardware, Dollar store, Pharmacy) and coffee shop (Tim Hortons) with restaurants, gas, etc. available.
Porters Lake Shopping is 30 minutes away, Atlantic Superstore is there.
We also have a micro brewery in the Harbour. Variety of places to eat (Chinese Food, Fish and Chips, great pizza, etc.). A bowling alley and a Tavern, The Old #7 (with great food) is just up the road.
You can visit the Musquodoboit Harbour Railway Museum while you are here.
We also have many great, well kept walking trails close by.
The NS Wildlife Park in Shubenacadie, NS. - 45 minutes away.

Summary: The hosts are very kind and down to earth people. The cottage is very clean, nicely decorated, comfy bed and is equipped with all the comforts of home. It is in a great location for taking day trips out to places such as Peggys Cove,.Halifax, Martinique Beach etc. Highly recommend!

Summary: This trip was to visit my long distance girlfriend for a week and this property was exactly what we needed. We are very thankful for Marvin not turning us away as our original Vrbo had been cancelled due to the owner selling the property. The cottage had everything we could’ve needed; we didn’t need to bring anything to cook or clean with, there was everything for doing laundry, plenty of space for the two of us, and the bed was comfortable. Would recommend to anyone looking for a small getaway!

Summary: We spent 2 weeks at this lovely oceanfront cottage on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia. It wad everything we needed in terms of supplies. The hosts, Sherry and Marvin, are great people and were very helpful in responding to our questions or suggesting places to see/do. The entire area is beautiful - sandy beaches, gorgeous views, etc. The cottage is located in an area that is within driving distance of many other areas on the Eastern Shore, plus Halifax, Peggy's Cove, Minas Basin, etc. We had visits from deer, flocks of Canadian Geese, and a pair of Bald Eagles. The night sky is filled with stars. You can see the French Point Lighthouse across from the cottage. We plan to return.

Summary: Perfect little cottage for our small family! Everything was clean and sharp, water was hot for 4 people showering, fast wifi, nice amenities for cooking some meals for times we stayed in, AMAZING view of the ocean / inlet!! and all on a nice quiet side road... highly recommend!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay ! Thanks to the hosts, they were great ! The cottage is even better in real than advertised. There are beautiful beaches near the cottage. Our favorite one is Clam Harbor. Martinique Beach and Taylor Head are also nice. All the beaches were recommended by the hosts. Cottage is only one hour from Halifax. The host recommended to take the ferry from Dartmouth to Halifax. It was easy, cheap and nice to be on the water. It was also a great experience to see eagles from the cottage. To relax in the cottage, internet is great and there is Netflix. The only thing we dislike was the odor of the water from the well and the color orange for the warm water. Other than that it was perfect !

Summary: If you’re looking for absolute silence-night and day, a big deck, bbq and fully outfitted cabin with the Atlantic at your front door. Where once you get groceries you can literally unplug (don’t worry there’s internet and cell service). And hosts that are there to welcome you/get you set up - but allow you your space to contact them as you need them, this is the rental for you! Add bald eagles, Canadian geese and pheasants, and you’ll think you’re on a deserted island-but only 10 minutes from a gym, the liquor and grocery store, pizza, fish and chips… I’ve never slept so well as I did here. It was late Fall, and even though the weather was unseasonably warm, I can just imagine what Summer is like here. You’re with 45-1 hour of Halifax-Dartmouth, for any big city things you desire, but if your needs are simple, you won’t need to go far from “home” to thoroughly enjoy yourself.

Summary: We spent 2 weeks (last 2 of August) in this little cottage and it was the most relaxing holiday we've had in a long time. The location is so quiet, very private. The morning sunrise a photographer's dream. Marvin and Sherrie are the perfect hosts! We highly recommend staying there!
