Positive: Location was excellent, facilities good, exceptional property.
Negative: We had travelled up for my sisters wedding so had quite a few outfits for the stay. A wardrobe would have been ideal to hang our clothes up. There was plenty of drawer storage, it was just hanging space that we were short on.
Summary: Fabulous, we enjoyed every minute!

Positive: Overlooking Melrose Abby and Priorwood Gardens, Pear Cottage is a self-catering apartment in the historic old town of Melrose. Updated with modern conveniences, it still retains its old world charm. It was clean and spacious. The bedroom was in the back of the unit so it was quiet. The on-site parking was a bonus. Helen Stewart, who manages it for the National Trust of Scotland, was genuine, kind, helpful, and a pleasure to talk to.
Negative: The unit is on the first floor so if you can't manage a flight of stairs perhaps look for another location. For everyone else, the views are great.
Summary: It is a privilege to stay in a place like Pear Cottage.

Positive: Great location between Abbey and the garden and close to shops, cafes, pubs, etc. Nearby park is ideal if travelling with a dog. Designated parking space is handy to avoid dealing with often busy parking nearby. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable with everything we needed.

Positive: Location overlooking Melrose Abbey is superb. The lounge has windows on three sides looking out in turn on the Abbey, the main street and a National Trust Garden. The excellent Roman museum of Trimontium is just around the corner.
