Negative: I was just a bit disappointed when we check in the holding deposit was very excessive for a one night stay. $400 is way too much and then to hold it for 10 days was not great.

Positive: The pool and hot tub were an absolute delight after a day of hiking in October
Negative: We booked 3 nites through Booking.com. Upon arrival we asked if our room was on the quiet side, we were told YES. However, our room was facing the parking lot and the highway :(. We returned to front desk to be moved to quieter side, but told they couldn't change it even tho there was vacancy, bcuz the rooms were allocated by Management earlier that day. Staff said there was nothing they could do until the next day. We have never been told this by any other hotel/lodge. Guest experience and satisfaction should be a priority. Given we had booked THREE nights, AND that they would want guests to return, It seemed a very poor 'system' to not allow front desk to help satisfy guests, let alone have put us in a nicer room to begin with. We were told by staff that 'Next time, we should book directly through them at the Lodge'. Our interpretation was if we had booked directly through the Lodge, we would have received better service. Wow, that was a shocker.
Summary: To receive better service, don't use Booking.com to stay at Pemberton Valley lodge? :( Shocking

Positive: We thought the overall layout of main floor was odd and didn’t relate to resort vibe. No views or access to pool back area from lobby or rooms. Grounds were small and didn’t jive with resort theme in pricing and actual features. Fit and finish of rooms and common areas was ok, just not worth the price point. Town had nice restaurant.
Negative: Overall vibe didn’t match expectations in listing in our view. This property didn’t deliver much beyond a chain motel several hundred dollars less then we paid. Certainly wouldn’t recommend it to others unless they were after the small pool. The grounds and facilities we saw just didn’t match the illusion projected in listing.
