Welcome to the best little Creekside cabin around. Enjoy that morning coffee while listening to the trickle of our little creek. The house has one flight of stairs to the main level and all rooms are on this level. 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath along with open concept living room and kitchen. Sleeping arrangements are bedroom with queen, bedroom with 2 twins, and queen sleeper sofa. Outdoor seating for 6, propane grill. Interior gas fireplace, tennis rackets,basketball, and frisbee’s provided for guest use. This house does have central heat and air. Lower level screened in porch and outside wood burning fireplace with twinkle lights by the creek!
This house is the absolute getaway for the entire family. PS2 for play and watching DVD’s. A selection of DVD’s and games are provided. There also is an old school free standing arcade game! Rain or shine, plenty to do here!
Located in the gated community of Powder Horn Mountain. Renters have access to the outdoor community pool during the summer months as well as hiking trails, clubhouse, fitness center, tennis, campground, fishing, paddle boating, disk golf course and more. The house is a great getaway, located just a few hours from Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem, and Raleigh. The house comes with all your linens as well as a roll of toilet paper and paper towels. The kitchen is very well equipped with full size gas range and oven, dishwasher, fridge, small appliances like drip coffee maker and a Keurig, blender, toaster, microwave, knives, mixing bowls, cookie sheets, pots and pans, measuring cups and spoons, dinner ware for adults and kids! We do recommend stopping at the grocery store before arrival. Closest grocery store to the community is at the top of Elk Creek Rd, Food Lion.

Cell phone signal is spotty but wifi calling is available.
PETS are $50 PER PET and charged separately after your initial booking. Please make note of any pets when you book.
Just minutes to Boone, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson, High County festivals, Fly Fishing, Blue Ridge Mountains, Appalachian Trail,Wineries, Breweries, Appalachian State Football! Shopping and local restaurants galore! Ski resorts are about 45 mins away but only 18 -25 miles. Banner Elk and Blowing Rock will be about 45 mins. Tweetsie 35 mins. For baby gear we do have a local provider you can rent from and that info is included in your initial email correspondence pdf. Groceries can be delivered to your house with 24 hour notice. We usually have folks order from Lowes foods for pick up around 2pm the day of check in. There is a fee for this service.
The campground in the community is a great place for an outside firepit and smore’s. It sits on laurel creek and is the main starting point for many of our famous hiking trails like the Blue Hole. There are charcoal grills down there as well. We recommend if the pool is busy to go check out the swimming spots on the river at the campground. Absolutely gorgeous! We look forward to having you!

Summary: We rent a cabin every year for spring break, always in a different location. This was our fifth year and this was the NICEST, CUTEST cabin we’ve stayed in. Super clean, well appointed, and so peaceful. I gave the communication four stars only because I tried to inquire about getting refunded on the pet fee since we didn’t bring our dog and never heard back or saw a refund. BUT otherwise, great. Location was four stars only because my kids complained about the distance we had to go just to get some groceries etc, but that’s part of the experience!

Summary: Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin driveway is a little tricky to maneuver as it is gravel and on an incline. For someone like myself who has mobility issues it was extremely difficult to walk up to the stairs without assistance. The creek along side the cabin was very nice and peaceful. We did not get to use the deck or fire pit as it rained almost every day. Inside the cabin we noticed immediately the living room windows had no curtains and your neighbor can see directly into the cabin as they are higher up. I found dirty dishes on the shelf which was an immediate turnoff, the plastic plates on the top shelf. The cabin itself is nice, but could use some freshening up and cleaning. The bedroom closet with the queen sized bed was full of items like fans, an Irobot vacuum, items on the shelf as well making use of the closet for suitcases or shoes not possible. The only thing you could use the closet for is to hang up clothing. The closet door is also off the track so it swings open and does not stay closed. My spouse being 5' tall went to put the garbage out and discovered that the receptacle is a lift top and you must stand on a piece of wood beam that is not secure to place the garbage in the receptacle. This is very dangerous and really should be doors that open in the front as we saw inside the community at other cabins. We did use the washer and dryer which was a nice feature to have, but the soap dispenser tray needs to be cleaned. Overall it could be a very nice location, but definitely needs a good cleaning and some attention to maintenance and storage of items so the closet can be utilized.
