Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Beautiful location
Negative: Staff did not know basics like activities, check out time, access etc. flagged several issues and no resolution Famous for walking tours. A person was away so no tours on either day. A long way to go to be disappointed. Staff also regularly in conversation with each other and had to wait for gap in their conversation to ask for things. Sign in the restaurant saying FOOD wait time half an hour was a deterrent to ordering food not a tool for management expectation Breakfast was ordinary
Summary: Just not up to the Peppers standard

Positive: As close as you can get to Cradle Mountain National Park. Good sized cabin with toasty gas log fireplace and hot shower with good water pressure, just what we needed after a hike. The main building's lounge had comfy leather couches and a massive fireplace. Amazing burgers in the bistro. We were greeted by kangaroos having breakfast outside our window. A complementary bottle of sparkling wine on arrival was a big surprise (in celebration of our wedding anniversary). The shuttle bus into the park was a 5 minute walk away.
Negative: Emails to promote upselling of products from the hotel. The restaurant was pricey with only a set menu on offer. No milk provided for our Nespresso coffee (but the coffee pods were appreciated). We expected a TV and internet in the cabin.
Summary: Gateway to Cradle Mountain

Positive: The location of the property was perfect. Close to the visitor centre to catch a shuttle bus to Cradle Mountain or you could take a shuttle bus from the property. Some very close walks both in front and behind the lodge.
Negative: The accommodation was very disappointing for the money that we paid. It is in need of an upgrade and is quite dated. There were also limited places to eat. The Tavern didn’t open until later in the day so your only option was a $40 per person breakfast. The restaurant offered a two course menu for $105 per person which seemed a little extreme. We ended up having breakfast and dinner at another hotel nearby.
Summary: Great location, expensive and in need of an upgrade

Positive: Location! Location! Location! This icon of a property is fabulously located within the park. Although some parts of the property are a little tired, our cabin was extremely comfortable with a comfy bed, superb wood heater and a ‘new’ bathroom. Staff were very attentive and helpful, and we enjoyed our meals in both the tavern and Highland restaurant. The park is on the doorstep with many walks accessible from the lodge. Highly recommended!
Summary: It’s all about the location!
