Positive: I immediately liked the place and would happily return anytime! To me, it’s a hidden gem. It could use a bit of maintenance and a better sleeper couch, so I’ll be sure to check these points before my next visit. I do hope they address the minor maintenance issues quickly. I really appreciate the safety and "luxury" of staying there, while enjoying the beautiful sea views and feeling comfortable inside the place. I loved the kitchen and enjoyed cooking there. However, the cupboards could use a little maintenance, as there was some mould on the wooden boards and a bit of a smell. It wasn’t ideal, but I managed as I had some of my own kitchen utensils. The layout worked perfectly for me, and I especially loved the peace and quiet. Having coffee on the stoep every morning while overlooking the sea was such a treat! I truly loved my stay, though I did have to address a few maintenance issues. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Negative: What I didn’t like was that the sleeper couch didn’t meet expectations. The base was completely broken, and I had to arrange for a replacement bed from the landlord/host, as I couldn’t let a 34-year-old woman sleep on the floor on just a mattress. There are also a few leaks under the sink in the kitchen. I discovered that it wasn’t caused by the pipes, but rather because the sink wasn’t properly sealed. Water was spilling over and leaking through the cracks due to the poor seal. The shower also isn’t fully sealed, and water leaks through the bottom of the door and the sides. The curtain rail and curtains in the lounge area need replacing, as this is basic maintenance that should be done regularly. The rail is rusted, and the curtains have brown stains at the top. Moving the curtains open and closed wasn’t smooth either. That said, this is a great place! I really enjoy staying here, which is why I’ve already booked another two-week vacation for December 2025. It’s now my go-to spot, and the price is perfect for me. I’m happy with the location, and next time, I’ll bring some umbrellas and windshades to make the stoep more comfortable in the sun and wind. Overall, this place just needs a little tender loving care.
