Neil Bay Hideaway is situated on little over an acre with views from living, dining, and recreation rooms of Neil Bay and Spieden Island. This two-bedroom, two-bathroom home has plenty of room for children and the family dog to play and romp in the fenced backyard and is conveniently located a short walk to the historic seaport town of Roche Harbor for fine restaurants, shopping, walking the docks, or playing on the beach at the isthmus.
Nice open floor plan so families can be together while cooking in the kitchen, playing foosball in the game room or watching sports on the 65" HD TV in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a separate dining room with a table and six chairs, plus two extra upholstered folding chairs for added seating. Don't worry about bringing salt and pepper. The owner tries to provide most spices you would need, along with olive oil, vinegar, etc. They even try to keep some coffee in stock.
The owners offer a wood burning stove in the recreation room and a fireplace in the living room. Wood is available at no charge on the property. Free internet and DirecTV is available. The primary bedroom is a king with a full bath and TV, the guest room is a queen with full bath, and the game room now has a sofa bed that can accommodate your children or adults.
Nearby activities include playing on the beach at the isthmus, swimming at the Roche Harbor pool for a nominal fee, taking a stroll through Roche Harbor’s sculpture park, kayaking, gin tasting, hiking nearby trails and parks, fishing, crabbing and exploring Roche Harbor and Friday Harbor.
During the warm island months, enjoy an evening dinner outside in the beautifully landscaped yard with the propane Weber BBQ grill and comfortable outdoor dining area. The fenced backyard is the perfect spot for your family pup to play or simply relax in the outdoor doghouse. The house is perfect for two couples, their family and dogs to enjoy time to relax and unwind while enjoying the quiet of the Neil Bay neighborhood.
Fire pits are not usable from May 1st-September 30th due to county burn ban and safety of property and neighboring areas. Ban is usually lifted October 1st if/when conditions and weather are favorable. Firewood is provided for off-season.
One house-trained, less than 65-pound dog per reservation with a pet fee. If a request for an additional dog is made, an additional fee will be assessed. Only two dogs maximum are allowed. Dogs are not to be left unattended. If a dog is left unattended and a neighbor calls to complain about noise or other disruption by the dog, renter will be charged a $200 fee. Pets are not allowed on furniture. Renter assumes responsibility for all extra cleaning needed such as emergency carpet cleaning, furniture replacement, and or emergency laundromat use for bulky items like comforters and pillows. Dogs must be house trained, and on-leash while outside.

It was beautifully decorated in transitional style with large windows that looked over an expansive front lawn and a view of the water, perfect for relation. The house was in both walking and driving distance of Roche Harbor, which was located up a main road from the house (walking took about 30 minutes one way). We chose to eat meals at the house, and the spacious kitchen had every dish or utensil that we needed. When we weren't at Roche Harbor we enjoyed relaxing at the house, sitting outside in the sunshine at the outside table or in the comfortable living room. We loved seeing a group of deer lounge on the front lawn each evening. We enjoyed the Victorian elegance of Roche Harbor, taking in a 3-hour sea kayaking tour one morning and sampling Lime Kiln donuts afterwards (both recommended!).

Summary: Smooth check-in process. Excellent location, easy walking distance to Roche Harbor and Isthmus. Clean, comfortable and spacious house. Easily accommodated 4 adults and 2 teenagers. Well appointed and stocked kitchen, great for cooking and family gatherings. Nice view of bay from living room window. Well maintained and managed property. 5 Stars.

Summary: Lovely house, well equipped, very modern and clean. Unfortunately, when booked the plan was to have five adults and a small dog. One of the adults got covid and had to bail out. The couple with the dog had travel issues and couldn't make it, leaving just my wife and I. All of that was bad enough then on our second day there my wife had a misstep (be careful of the step leading into the game room just inside the main entrance), she badly sprained her ankle such that walking was painful and difficult. She also strained some interstitial ribs muscle catching herself from the subsequent fall. Icing, taping, ibuprofen helped, but our plans to further explore the island were dashed. Rather than hanging around we figured convalescing and care for the ankle and rib muscles could be better handled at home, we were able to switch our ferry sailing day and departed a day early. Rather than three nights we were only there two nights. So a house large enough to comfortably accommodate six people only has two of us and our three night stay was truncated to just two night. In the end no matter how nice the house was (and it was very nice indeed) the trip was pretty much a bust.

Summary: Very clean. Very well equiped kutchen. Nice table space for dinners with family. Nice view of the sound. Setting is lovely. There are alot of short levels and seniors need to watch their step. We loved the place, just a little disappointed that the fox didn't visit us...but the deer were there.

Summary: This was our first time to the San Juan Islands. The house is in the country and we saw plenty of deer. It is away from all the tourist action. This home is well prepared for dogs with a back entry from fenced in yard. Plenty of dog towels provided. The house had everything we needed. Gas grill was available for use, which we did. The house was clean and very welcoming. The owner suite had very high king size bed, we really appreciated the step stools on both sides. The bunk area in rec room worked for us but I could see with some children it maybe difficult as it is open to entire house. The bathrooms had no blinds which is fine as it faces wooded back yard however the lawn people came and some of us had to wait until they left to shower. They were longer than expected as they broke a patio glass door. We called property management and they handled it promptly. Property management was very professional and helpful prior to our stay and during. Would definitely book through them again. We had a wonderful vacation!!!
