Positive: Lovely villa with all the amenities you need. Great outdoor seating areas, comfortable beds. Nice barbecue area. Fantastic sunset views.
Negative: Some attention to detail needed. Showers in the main part of the house were not great., shower curtain was inadequate and leads to wet floor. No single use shampoo/conditioner/shower gel use provided, not even handwash/soap. I know this is not essential, but small details like this enrich the user experience. Lack of hooks to hang things, clothes/ used towels etc. Mosquitoes were really bad, I know this is not the fault of the owner. But it would be helpful if some anti mosquito coils or candles were provided, seeing as the owner could stock up and get these. When we went to the shops all were sold out, as we expect everyone in the area has the same problem. We used our own plug-in mosquito repels inside, but outside we had nothing. It made sitting outside unbearable as we were being bitten rotten. Again, I appreciate this is not the owner's fault, but I would much rather some citronella candles or coils provided so we can sit outside, rather than a free bottle of prosecco. The hot tub was out of action. The owner said this was due to recent rain, fair enough. But when we asked for it to be brought back into action, the owner said he had to come over from an hour away to fill it up, and then it would take hours to heat, meaning we didn't get to use it. It was a shame as it was one of the selling points of the villa. If you offer it, it should be usable, if not, offer us a discount or something. The main bedroom not being directly linked to the main house was not a massive problem but was a bit of an inconvenience. It's probably not ideal if you are staying with older travellers as they have to go outside and then up steep stairs to reach the master bedroom.

Positive: The old house is absolutely gorgeous and with such a stunning view to match words can not do it justice. The several terraces and window views from each room really present a sense of calm and enjoyment from everywhere. While the house is older and comes with some inherent limitations as a result, the host has done an amazing job setting everything up and outfitting for good guest stays. The house and property are lovely and there is space but it is segregated. For cold weather this may not be the best option.
Negative: We were there during a heat wave so it should be noted there is no AC but the host went out of his way and got portable units for us to put in the windows. One item that should be noted and may not be clear in the listing is the bedroom count. There are 3 actual bedrooms but just 2 are upstairs. The 3rd bedroom is actually a separate area of the villa (the suite as referenced) which requires old stone step access to a different level. We made due with this but had not realized it and led to some challenges with young kids who were therefore in an entirely separate building that requires going outside between including difficult stairs.

Positive: Beautiful villa and garden in the Chianti hills with amazing panorama, maximum silence and relaxation! Great place to stay and to run excursions in the region from here. Fully equiped house with all necessary stuff for longer stay. Lapo the owner was very kind and helpful in all matters and questions we had, suggested really good places to see and try. Very flexible, we could check-in earlier on arrival and check-out with no hurry on departure day.
