Summary: A beautiful place in a specific traditional location. Loved the village, even with all these walks to the car. And this island is just such a perfect place, we loved the hot weather and the snorkeling.

Summary: We had a great time in Poggio and Elba - we got around by bus and by foot. The walk down to Marciana Marina takes about an hour and we took the bus back up the hill. The apartment itself was spacious and had great amenities, but was a bit damp and had no air circulation.

Summary: Poggio is a beautiful, authentic and peaceful hilltop town with stunning views and Gianna’s house is the perfect oasis for a quiet getaway. The apartment is spacious and comfortable but the garden is the cherry on the cake with a gorgeous view of the picturesque town of Marciana. Gianna was very helpful and accommodating. We had a lovely stay, would definitely recommend.

Summary: Poggio is a really beautiful village in the mountains of Elba island, it's a great spot to stay cool during summer and enjoy the beaches around the island. The apartment has a great view with a beautiful terrace, to enjoy your meals. It's a 2 communicating bedrooms apartment. It's very practical to cook in the full equipped kitchen only oven is missing but has a microwave and washing machine. Make sure you get miss Poggioli number (the one on the website it's to not up to date) before arrival because the streets are not clear on Google maps, so that you can call her and she will guide you there. The bedsheets and towels are not included, they can be rented from the owner upon request. I loved my staying in this apartment, hopefully will come back soon!

Summary: We spent one week off-season in Poggio. Nice quiet village, nice people. The owner is very nice and friendly, and so are the neighbors, especially if you speak italian, but they also speak english. The appartment is exactly as described, with a private table and lounge chairs. The village is pedestrian-only, the minimum distance you have to walk for unloading is felt 200 meters and height feeling like a 3 story house. For daily parking, it is more like 5 min with stairs leading up and down. Lots of cats along the way, all in good shape and well fed. Three nice restaurants in the village, with special food ‚genovese style‘ in Sciamadda. A walkway up to Mone Capanne starts directly behind the village, climbing up hiking, going down by cable car and then 20 min walking along street from Marciana. If you plan to spend all days at the beach, Poggio is probably not the best place, especially in high season when car parking at the beaches is difficult. But a very good place to make a mix of beach, hiking and touring the island.

Summary: Dear Gianna, Thank you very much for the lovely apartment. We enjoyed our holiday! Poggio is a cute and calm village with sweet little houses and a great view down to Marciana Marina and the ocean. The apartment has enough space, good equipment for cooking and a nice style! The neighbours are friendly and helped us with some good advice for the island. We are a young couple, and we can highly recommend Elba to everyone! It is a spot full of beautiful beaches, nature and lovely people! Best regards, H&J
