Summary: The house was very clean and well cared for. We were just looking for a place to stay that was close to the wedding we were attending in nearby Beach Harbor and opted to spend the long weekend here instead of a hotel room for one night in Bad Axe. For roughly the same price as the hotel room would have been, we had a private spot in a quiet location right off the lake. The firepit is what sold me, and we put it to good use while we were there. It was nice to have a great view of the stars at night while listening to Lake Huron, enjoying a good fire. I have T-Mobile cell phone services and while it was spotty at times, surprisingly for the most part the signal worked well in/nearby the property. Port Hope Hide-Away is a great place to stay if you are like us : Trying to get away from all of the "frills" of a busy city by escaping to, "no-frills" environment. IT was exactly what we signed up for. We loved it and will probably be back.

Summary: Comfortable little cabin right across from Lake Huron. About 8 minutes from a cool beach with a lighthouse and half hour from Port Austin (I'm in love with one of the beaches over there for rock hunting) We had plenty of room with the kiddos and I appreciated all the fans the host provided. The area was quiet and worked great for the four of us! Thanks!

Summary: We stayed the weekend at and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves (couple and 16 year old girl twins.) The house is basic in that it’s comfortable, functional, and no frills technology wise (no wifi and for us our cell phone was spotty) The ++ are for those things you can’t really measure but make stays awesome- like being able to watch the sunrise over the lake, the unobstructed sky to see stars, the quiet that’s only broken up by the sounds of nature or the crackle from the bonfire. The location was perfect for us to hit the local hot spots without much car time- farthest was Caseville at about 40 mins, and the drive from metro Detroit up M-25 is a treat in itself! “G—Maps” has the spot a tiny bit off but totally easy to find so if you have any questions ask the host- she was great at responding to all my emails. We hope to stay again =)

Summary: The Cabin was a little off the beaten track. It was smaller than I expected but the location was actually pretty good and it was snug. Well worth the money.
