Positive: Stunning location. Very friendly check-in. Very spacious, clean room. Spectacular views from the restaurant and communal area. Good breakfast and dinner. Would come again.

Negative: Based on the advertising, I had expected a more spectacular dinner in the restaurant. It was good, traditional Portuguese food, but not gourmet. Getting to the parking area is a bit tricky, especially with a larger car (we were advised to park at Estacionamento 2).

Positive: We have visited Marvao several times before but this was our first stay at this hotel. The staff informed us at check-in that it’s no longer being managed by the Pestana group but by the same local family that owns other properties in town. This may mean that it’s going through a transition. The location is central and the views to the east are stunning. We had a lovely room and overall a good experience.

Negative: The breakfast was quite meager.
