Positive: I recently stayed at Pousadinha Mar Ave Ilha on Príncipe Island and had a wonderful experience. The guesthouse is beautiful and impeccably clean. The staff, Bete and Tonguinha, are incredibly friendly and take excellent care of the guests. The owner, José Manuel, is extremely courteous and ensures both the guesthouse and its visitors are well looked after. If Booking.com allowed ratings higher than 10, I would certainly give it.

Positive: The staff is super friendly and sweet and Betty is an excellent cook and she always wears a big smile! The guesthouse is located in the village and this way it gives a good idea of everyday life of the local community. There's a bar and you can buy basic food items like water, bread and cheese, you'll have to ask around to find out where to buy what, there's not a real shop. It's very close to the entrance of Obo national park and a stunning viewpoint is only 400 metres away.
Negative: LOUD music from the direct neighbours at 6am every morning, it turns your room into a disco. Of course this is nobody's fault, but be aware, that the street is extremely muddy after rain, there is no way to get in and out of the property without sinking into ankle-deep mud. Parking the car and driving up to the property can become a challenge, it's best to leave it at the viewpoint and walk the last 400m.

Positive: The location is really special. From the bathroom window I could see hundreds of beautiful birds, the garden is amazing, and I felt welcomed.
Negative: Nothing, I really enjoyed my time there.

Positive: The experience was really good. The location is right in the middle of the jungle (incredibel!) and the bathroom is a dream. Although, it's far a away from Santo António. The staff was really amazing. Thank you so much, Elizabete and Marlene for all the love and kindness that you gave to us. Breakfast and dinner were good.

Positive: Nice house and rooms. Breakfast and dinner (for extra cost) are quite good but a bit expensive. Common area where guests have their meals and possible to mingle with other guests. TV area.
Negative: Room needs a little better fan solution. Location means that you need transport (taxis or rental).

Positive: We absolutely loved the staff Betty and Marlene. Both were so lovely, warm hearted kind and patient, always with a smile on their beautiful faces even through having to deal with two travellers who spoke no Portuguese. Thet went above and beyond making our stay comfortable, making us feel part of their family. What a special place for the person who wants to explore the natural world of Principe. Be prepared facilities are basic in the area with a local shop that provides only the very basic food stuffs and takes local cash. There is an amazing secluded beach at the bottom of a ,steep at times, jungle track that is accessible by foot only, its about 2km walking down and up around 223m of elevation. There is plenty to see on the route, including lots of parrots roosting at dusk.

Positive: Communication with the owner José was easy-going. My room was spacious and the view from my bathroom into the lush, green nature stunning. Elizabete is super welcoming and a very good chef; the octopus was amazing and the breakfast rich and plentiful. Also, Alcides serves as a great guide to the nearby waterfall.
