Summary: We came to visit with family near by and this house exceeded our expectations! It was much more spacious than initially imagined. Yard was perfect for the kids to run around in. House was fully equipped with everything we needed and very clean. Got to enjoy deer and bunnies. Great view of ocean and mount Baker. I can’t say enough amazing things about this place. Thank you for the great stay!

Summary: This rental home exceeded our expectations. It provided more than enough room for our family, with a large, modern kitchen, multiple sitting areas, comfortable beds, and three bathrooms (including a huge ensuite with jetted tub). An abundance of windows throughout gives plenty of natural light, and the patio areas are large and comfortable, with flowers, fruit trees, and a big, well-maintained yard for our kids to run around in. We particularly enjoyed the ocean view and regular visits from resident deer. The property is very private, and very close to amenities. Check-in was easy and communication on the part of the manager was great. We can't say enough about this vacation rental. Highly recommended.

Summary: We were six adult family members sharing a vacation on Vancouver Island for a week. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this home. The setting is beautiful and convenient to some many different activities to be enjoyed on the island. The house is spacious, very clean and well maintained. The bedrooms are nicely sized and spaced; the beds very comfortable; the bed and bath linens very nice. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained and the views are gorgeous. We cooked most of our meals right "at home", and the kitchen and grill were well-suited to our tastes and needs. The kitchen could use a few things like a knife sharpener, more coffee mugs and dish towels, but overall our gourmet cooks were very happy with the set up. We would rent again and recommend this home to friends and family in a heartbeat.

Summary: Location is great! Mill Bay is a wonderful place to visit (and often several degrees warmer than Victoria, who knew?) The property is quite large, lots of room for the kids to run around. Enjoyed the great view of the ocean. Excellent communication from our host, i have already recommended the property to a friend and we would certainly come back. Netflix was a nice touch, and the shower pressure was awesome My only critical feedback is around the kitchen. I think some of the items could use a refresh. We cook almost every meal, and are used to higher end items from a five star property. There was not a sharp knife in the unit lol (other than the one i bought and left behind). the appliances had minor issues needing repair, and the garbage can in the kitchen is so tiny that we could fill it up twice over dinner. Minor issues however in what would otherwise be a five star experience

Summary: We have a large family and have been coming to Hillcrest in Mill Bay for the past 6 years. The house is very well kept and is very spacious. The property is very large, beautiful and private. Even the dog run is big! While you may have to drive to the beach, there is a cove right down the road for some great beachcombing. Organic farms surround you. Great blackberry, plum, apple and blueberry picking nearby. Very central location to get to the other Islands. You won't be disappointed!

Summary: I have to tell you we had a wonderful stay. The house was above expectations, absolutely spacious, great for large families, reunions, get togethers. The view spectacular and the deer kept us company in the yard morning til dusk. It is aways though to a beach, would not reccommmend walking. The area held so much to do, Cowichan Bay quaint and resturants right on the harbor, best reccommended Rock Cod Cafe there. Service good and food especially the fish and chips out of this world. Duncan was marvelous, Farmers markets great and we went into a little resturant in town and had lunch, Food superb, yet alas can't remember the name of it. The people on the Island were absolutely great, friendly, helpful, can't say enough about them and you need to take a trip to Sidney, but use the Mill Bay ferry and back, took it over many times and well worth it. Beacon Landing in Sidney is a fantastic resturant well worth it, great service and even better food. Would I come back you betcha. The view, deers and quietness of this house is amazing and allows you to relax and become stress free from everyday life. The company dealing with this property did an excellent job and well worth booking through again.

Summary: The house was much more spacious then the photos showed. Definitely with 3 bedroom and 3 baths with an oversized living room, family room at other end of house, large utility room and a home office room this house was very accomadating for a family reunion, friends gathering, etc. We spent most of our time out on the patio along with the neighboring deer that came into the yard. The on line description was accurate, but the beach is a hike from the house. The property was very clean and was well maintained. The service we rented through was also good. Yes, I would definitely recommend it. I think I might like to rent again during the "crush" season at the local wineries. I was surprised how many there were. Just riding the Brentwood Bay to Mill Bay ferry was fun along with the ferries to the other Gulf Islands. Most of all this place provided a great place to relax. Beacon Landing resturant at the Sydney harbor was excellent and we ate there several times. Also and I hope I have the name right, Rock Cod at Cowinish (sp?) Bay was great for Fish and Chips. We had a horrible experience at the Pioneer Resturant which is between Mill Bay and Duncan and there were no satisfied customers the day we were there for lunch. We waited almost an hour for the lunch to come out of the kitchen and they weren't even busy that day. The Farmers Market in Duncan (old town area) was fun, though we were told the one north of Duncan had more veggies.
