Located between the beach communities of South Haven and Saugatuck/Douglas, and the town of Fennville, 'Harvest Country' is home to wineries, art galleries, great dining, a ski area, bike trails, and multiple rivers and lakes for fishing and kayaking. Enjoy farmers markets, town festivals and the beach in the summer along with the gorgeous colors on display in the dense woods and rolling farmland in the fall.
House Rules:
This property is not available for weddings, parties or high school/college events. The minimum age to rent the property is 27. No exceptions.
Stunning 6 bedroom, 4.5 bath Spanish Colonial style home in a park-like setting, perfect for families or groups.
At the end of a long, private driveway, this one-of-a-kind custom home is located in the middle of 15 wooded acres, surrounded by large tracts of land on all sides. The 3600sf two-story home with game area in the 2-car garage has three large living areas (two with fireplaces), beautiful views from all six bedrooms, two of which are on the main floor. The huge basement den features a 60" LCD TV with Bluetooth sound bar, large sectional, foosball and pool tables, as well as a wet bar and gas fireplace. The family room, which is open to the kitchen and dining areas, has a gas fireplace and 50" LCD TV. The large recently updated kitchen features stone counters, custom tile backsplash, ultra-quiet dishwasher, French door refrigerator and electric cooktop/double oven and opens on to the family room and dining room. An additional refrigerator is located in the large laundry room behind the kitchen. DirecTV and wireless internet that supports streaming is included.
Well behaved dogs are welcome. Please let me know the breed and confirm that they are well-trained.
Summer Paradise: A heated, in-ground fenced pool is available to guests from early May through late September. The patio off the kitchen/dining/family room area includes a dining table for 10 plus an outdoor living room. Enjoy the fire pit and bird-watching in the back yard, outdoor games (provided), all secluded in the middle of the woods but just a short drive to the beach and town. Deer, turkeys and other wildlife roam the property.
Just a 5 minute drive from the property are multiple winery tasting rooms, a golf course, a beachfront Lake Michigan park, and a pumpkin patch with hay rides for autumn guests. Within a 10 minute drive is South Haven, with its charming downtown, farmers market, public beaches and lively riverfront. Other nearby attractions include Saugatuck/Douglas, Fennville, wineries with tasting rooms, breweries, numerous golf courses, antique markets, you-pick orchards, lakes with boat and kayak rentals, hike and bike trails, and many dining options.
Winter Wonderland: Enjoy the views of snow on the evergreen trees in the winter. The house has two furnaces and two fireplaces, and is quite cozy and warm in the winter.
The nearby Kal-Haven trail are great for cross country skiing.
A short drive away is the Bittersweet and Timber Ridge ski areas, where guests can downhill ski and snowboard; lessons, rentals and daily lift tickets available.
Downtown South Haven has an open-air ice skating rink, open daily - skate rentals available, as well as coffee and hot chocolate next door!
After the reservation is confirmed by Vrbo, guest and host will execute a separate rental agreement. This is a standard contract required by my insurance company that should not contain any surprises.

Summary: This house was perfect for a long weekend with friends including one 4 year old and one pup. It is large enough so people can do their own thing but also has great communal spaces for everyone to hang together. Close enough to town so it isn’t a trek but far enough away to feel secluded. The host could not have been nicer! Very happy we stayed here.

Summary: We hosted our annual Mom/kids trip with 5 moms, and 7 kids. The house was clean, had plenty of space for all, had fabulous things for all (games, pool, etc). The weather was perfect and all of us had a great time. Thank you for being wonderful hosts.

Summary: This property was perfect for our annual couples’ trip! It’s hard to find a nice place with 6 separate bedrooms and no bunk beds to accommodate 12 adults. Great location, easy ride into downtown South Haven and Saugatuck. As much as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, there were a couple things that should be mentioned: the steps and bottom of the pool were extremely slippery and caused a few of us to take a spill upon entering. No one was seriously injured, but a sign or note should be posted to alert visitors about this. Inside the house, the tap/shower water had a very strong sulfur smell which I’ve typically encountered in a cottage or cabin so it was unexpected in this setting. Otherwise, it was a terrific stay - Michelle was a great host, and we would recommend this property to families or groups traveling to this area.

Summary: Great pool and backyard. Wonderful layout for my family of 14 - plenty of room. Could use an update in bathrooms especially. My family complained of smelly well water. Overall, we loved it!!!!

Summary: The property is beautiful, with the pool and outdoor sitting areas as focal points. The house, although a bit dated, offered plenty of functional room for our family of 12. The house was clean and the property managers were very responsive and helpful. Overall, this was a great place for a family vacation.

Summary: These owners went well beyond having all the supplies for our stay we could ever need! The pool, ping-pong, pool table, foosball, cornhole, made our whole trip so enjoyable. Also, we were very close to the beach and the main downtown, which was absolutely adorable.
