Summary: I like unique experiences so this was a great spot for me. I’d say it’s “nicer” than a hostel, but not as “nice” as a hotel. It’s homey and historic. Plenty of comfy bedding and towels, but no frills. The grounds are very cool if you’re into rural- random- a bit out of the way places. My communication with the hosts was great! I checked in after dark as a single female without any worry. Wi-Fi was great and there were heaters in the closet to help warm the rooms. I’d def stay here again.

Summary: We flew in from the US Virgin Islands to visit family in the Lancaster, MA area, and were pleasantly surprised to find this very unique, beautiful, quiet, affordable rental alternative to expensive, bland hotels in the noisy, busy nearby towns! Max was very attentive to a few minor maintenance issues in our suite (understandable in this old, historic building), and we liked it so much we came back after a brief trip to Maine! The website picture is just a representation of the many rooms available, and we were given an even more generous space than that pictured. We would be happy to recommend this rental alternative to travelers to the Lancaster area, and we plan to return for our annual trip next summer...thanks again, Max!
