Summary: We spent two nights in August at this villa and would have liked to stay longer. It's well equipped and very comfortable, and although there were only three of us there is plenty of room for six people. The villa is about a 20 mins walk to the beach if you don't want to drive. Lucilia, our host was there at the same time and made us feel very welcome. Thank you for your hospitality - the confiture was delicious!

Summary: House was very clean and comfortable. Host was amiable and helpful. Area has decent rock climbing, nice beaches very close by. Porto is only 40-45 min drive away. Close to many sites in northern Portugal. We also found a great favourite restaurant nearby (Restaurant Buraco).

Summary: House is in an unusual neighborhood and was very difficult to find because hand-drawn maps were hard to understand and were in French. Owners are absentee landlords living in France and did not communicate on WhatsApp, as I requested. Tried by email, but owner always used French, not my language! No soap, shampoo, napkins, paper towels, condiments, coffee or tea provided. That being said, place was very clean, spacious (could easily handle 6 people) and beautiful, a few km from beautiful beach. Good staging position to visit Braga, Barcelo and Aveiro, all well worth seeing.

Summary: Very nice holiday! Beautiful landscape, good climate and a very nice and clean house! We have had a super holiday with our three kids. Lucilia and family are very nice people. We had a warm welcome. It's absolute worth to visit this area of Portugal and to stay in Lucilia's house.

Summary: We had problems to get to the place; it was impossible to find the house without GPS. The landlord was out of country in France. So the communication was only by mail, but they were writing to me in French that I didn't understand at all and I had to translate them in Google translate. The house was clean, but the hot water didn't work well; the water came out sometimes hot sometime cold. They rent only the second floor of the house and the first floor is closed. We enjoyed the walk by the beach and we drove to Oporto for a day trip.

Summary: This was our first holiday to Portugal and we were delighted and only wished we were staying longer than one week. Lucilia's house is beautiful with a lovely garden and is a wonderfully cool and spacious retreat from the sun. The house is well equipped and we felt completely at home. The nearest beach was about 20 minutes easy walk away, but there was also a car park and other beaches to be discovered up and down the coast. We enjoyed cooking outdoors under the grape arbour and enjoyed a mixture of beach holiday with a couple of days exploring in the national parks further inland. We also climbed the hill at the back of the village to the shrine of Senhora de la Paz - which gives amazing views. Cool Atlantic breezes made the July temperature very pleasant all along the coast, although inland it was much hotter. The beach was very quiet mid-week and busier at the weekends - it sloped gently and was safe for all the family. We found a great fish restaurant at Apulia and our children had a great day at Fantasticable - the longest zip wire in Europe at Pena de Ribeira about an hour's drive away. We strongly recommend this property.

Summary: We stayed one week in Vila Lucilia and enjoyed it very much. The vila has everything you need and has a very nice garden with a slendid picknick-area under a wine tree. The road to the vila is narrow, curvy and with cobblestones, so you have to drive very cautious. In this part of Marinhas (Esposende) are no shops in walking distance, so you need a car (to go to the beach as well). You can park your car on the grounds of the vila. We stayed on the ground floor of the vila . The first floor can only be reached by a staircase. The lady who takes care of the house (the sister of the lady-owner) is very friendly and helpfull. She only speaks Portugese but understands a little Spanish. A little knowledge of the Portugese language is advisable. Places like Porto, Viana do Castelo, Braga, Barcelos and more are close by for a visit. There is a super market (Mini Precio) when you enter Esposende, coming from the vila, and a Euromarche at the north of Esposende.
