Summary: With this house you get an awful lot of dampness along side all the wonders of a beautiful bush setting, and fantastic morning bird song. There are dehumidifiers downstairs that barely take the edge off the appalling damp, moldy smell down where the lower bedrooms are. Even the upstairs bedroom was more musty than I would expect for a quality bach. When we arrived the hot water hadnt been turned on, and its really hard to get someone from Bachcare to answer the phone, so it took a while to get hold of them so they could contact the local property manager, who came around as soon as he was contacted, with the key to the hot water cupboard (but this was a couple of days after we arrived). I really didnt want to give this property a bad review, because it clearly has much to offer (the upstairs open-plan space is perfect), but I would never stay here again. Maybe in the middle of Summer its ok, but it did not rain while we were staying there, and the dampness in the lower two bedrooms remained constant even though we kept trying to air it out.

Summary: The area is so filled with native bush, we heard birds every day and a large kereru sat in a nearby tree. A lovely quiet community with great walks. A nice house with everything you need: The house gets cold in winter, and while it was fine upstairs, the downstairs room had power issues - the fuse kept blowing due to having heaters on, so one of the rooms was too cold overnight. I would suggest it needs a new fuse box. Until then something has to be done to allow for heating the downstairs bedroom, and every room should have a working smoke alarm due to the older wiring.

Summary: A relaxing spot with a beautiful backyard of native bush containing an abundance of bird life and relaxing sounds of a nearby stream. Well catered for kids with table tennis, swing ball and a hidden tree fort. Although BEWARE of the grumpy neighbour. Was very unfriendly and took great dislike to our children venturing through the bush at the FAR back of his property to access the river. Has since erected a fence to stop this from happening.

Summary: The property was in a great location for the things we wanted to do. It was immaculately clean and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and it was a cozy place to spend evenings. There were two bedrooms downstairs which were cold, felt a bit damp and were quite dark. Also the place was smaller than we expected from the photographs and the fact that it sleeps 8. Would be a squash for 8 people. Generally though, it was a great spot and we had a fabulous time.
