Positive: The place was peaceful and clean. The host was very nice and made us a really beautiful breakfast. She put hot bottle warmers in our beds as well to make it more cozy. She was checking in on us periodically just to make sure we were enjoying our stay.

Positive: To begin, Ms. Bev was a beautiful soul, she was kind and patient. She allowed me to snoop all around the property and see animals that were behind the gate. Upon check-in it wasn't communicated through bookin.com that I had already paid the balance prior to arrival. So that was on booking.com not the host. She showed me how the cottage worked and how everything was at the tips of my finger tips. The water was hot and she gave reccommendations for tourist attractions in the city. I ate at Tamalis and the staff were wonderful. Thank you for that recommendation. She allowed me to use the pool whenever I pleased and it was heated since I went during the August timeframe (Africa's winter). I took fruit fromt he cottage and was able to feed the puimbas and bamboons who were down the road. little animals would come to the door to say, so keep your door shut hehe. They gave me a bottle of wine upon request since the ones stagged were dry. Every request, the staff was more than accommadating. Ms. Bev and the staff even allowed me to utilized the outdoot tub that was not included in my cottage but since there weren't any extra guests during my stay a basicalluy had te entire place to myself, the staff cleaned and ran the bath for me. I am so pleased and satisfied with my visit to Pumba Farmhouse and cottages, I will be back. As my first trip to Africa I avery pleased, especially since they gave me breakfast every morning. You all were sop thoughful,. every tip was well deserved. They even offered shuttle services around the country/whereever I needed to go. I used uber mostly but it was still nice of them to offer. Thank you Ms. Bev! She even allowed me to check in several hours prior to check in. So grateful 🙏🏾

Positive: Beautifully kept property and immaculately clean. The garden, pool, and view from the terrace was spectacular! Bev was also extremely friendly and helpful, as were her staff. Breakfast was delicious, too! We also loved that we could walk to Hemingways Eden for a meal or drink. Very close to popular attractions such as giraffe centre, elephant orphanage, and the Karen Blixen museum. Pumbaa is just as beautiful of a property for a fifth of the prices of similar accommodations in the area. It’s a no brainer - if you’re staying in Karen, book Pumbaa!

Positive: This was my first time traveling to Africa from California (I'm a woman in my 60's who traveled solo) and I started my trip staying at the Pumbaa Farmhouse and Cottages before a safari. Before I traveled, Bev was extremely helpful and communicative and answered my many questions. She and her husband Iby are the friendliest, most delightful hosts one could hope for. I LOVED the grounds, my cottage, and the peacefulness and beauty of this property. The incredible songs and sounds of the birds, the beautiful and lush landscaping, the call to prayer heard from the distance -- all added to the magic of my stay. The breakfast was so delicious, there were lovely amenities, and my cottage was beautiful and looked just like the photos -- it could not have been a better introduction to this wonderful country. Pumbaa is close to the Giraffe Center, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, the Karen Blixen Museum and more. It was easy and fast to get an Uber, yet the property feels remote, private, and very safe. If I ever return to Kenya, I will absolutely stay here again. In fact, I would love to see Bev and Iby again, they are doing so many upgrades to their gorgeous property which are amazing! Bev's designs and touches inside and out are so tasteful, elegant, and beautiful. I love her style and she buys from and supports Kenyan purveyors. Bev and Iby and their cottages deserve a solid 10 out of 10!
