Summary: The leaves were turning brilliant colors as the grapes were being picked during our stay in the comfortable farmhouse on hillside overlooking the vineyards and grazing sheep. We enjoyed the pumpkin festival in Kizer and parks in Salem with our adult children and granddaughter. The house is well furnished with everything we needed. The views from the porch were spectacular, and evenings by the fire pit were very relaxing. The living areas were comfortable for TV watching and reading. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking dinner. Thanks to the many windows the gorgeous views of hills and pasture and grapes and sky were ever present. We found it an idyllic place to getaway - and just a little more than an hour from Portland. We hope to make this an annual event!

Summary: My older brother and I surprised our spouses for their birthday with a trip to Oregon. This farmhouse stay was exactly what we hoped it to be! Quiet, plenty of privacy, environment for spending quality time with the people around you. We thoroughly enjoyed the large back deck with our coffees each morning and a glass of wine at night, and were so excited when a herd of sheep came into view each day. We would absolutely visit this property again, and have decided to turn this trip into an annual get together!

Summary: This home is in the middle of a vineyard and it was so peaceful. There were some cows in the next field and sheep in the other one, and vineyards all around. The views are incredible. Sitting out on the deck every day was a joy. A couple small things… the master bedroom upstairs only has one vent in the floor for the air conditioner, and it was covered up by a rug. You can pull the rug back so that the vent is able to get air through and fortunately, it cools down at night. But at night there was a constant machine running, and I could not understand what it was so I went outside and looked and along the side of the house where all the bedrooms are there is a radon mitigation system. The fan/motor runs 24/7. I’ve never heard of that before, so I googled it and I guess in some states, Oregon being one, there’s problems with radon in the ground? This is a whole new thing for me and in googling, a lot of people who did have a mitigation system complain that the motor/fan ran too loud and other people had the problem where it was outside their bedroom and it bothered them while they slept. They did say you can get new fans for those things that are super quiet, so maybe that might be something this homeowner could look into. It was a slight bummer, because I was looking forward to the really good quiet out there, there’s nobody around, no cars on the road, no light pollution, but that motor was going all night, all day. Other than that, a great house.

Summary: We couldn't be more stunned with how incredible Holloran House was. A group of friends attended a wedding at another winery and found this lovely place to stay. The pictures do not do it justice! The house was clean, the views were breathtaking, the beds were incredibly comfy, and the host was so responsive and kind. We were even left a little gift from their winery! Holloran is a working winery but we didn’t feel disturbed by anyone while we were there. It was the most peaceful, calming place we could have picked between the city and here. When you sit out on the deck and take in wine country, it's like you're looking at a postcard. It's unreal and so stunning. We were definitely surprised with how perfect it was. Thank you Madison, for an incredible stay!
