Positive: Steffi was lovely and took great pains to make our stay enjoyable, including picking up some walking poles from the sports store for use on our arrival and recommending all sorts of activities which avoided the worse of the crowds.

Negative: The bed was very hard for us but that’s a personal thing. Access and parking is tight. You’d need to be a confident driver.

Summary: Clean, nice location with sea views, lovely host.

Positive: Great room/house, nicely furnished and with a fully stacked kitchen. The staff was super helpful and nice (and with the help of Google Translate) the communication was pleasant. The views are great and the apartment is spacious with fast WiFi

Negative: If your rental car has a week engine (~50 kW), the hill from the house to the main road can be a challenge needing some clutch sacrifice, but the housekeeper was very nice and drove us up the hill with our laguage on our check-out.

Positive: Beautiful location, surroundings, grounds and facilities. Felt very relaxed staying at one with nature here. Gorgeous sunset lounge area and our balcony and deck was gorgeous. Apartment very comfortable and modern.

Negative: The driveway. Its incredibly steep. My 1.2engine hire car stuggled. I advise a more powerful car and lots of confidence. We parked at the top each day and trekked down. Also didnt like all the ants on the work tops in the apartment. My friends are not cat lovers so didnt like the owners friendly cats coming into the apartment but i didnt mind this.

Summary: Beautiful location. Beware the steep drive.

Positive: Excellent location. The garden is beautiful and the sunset lounge is a wonderful spot to have your coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. Steffi and Alex are great and take Steffi’s advice about tracking on the island, she knows all the tracks…what is worth, where to start from where to stop to eat… Much was said about the way you access the villa and how steep the road is. Well, it is steep but that is Madeira… a lot of roads are like that and coming from a flat city can be intimidating but is part of the experience😊 Thank you Steffi for the bananas! Absolutely delicious!

Negative: There was no wifi signal in the second bedroom. No big deal for us as we came back late every evening, but if you go with teenagers…be aware😊

Summary: Excellent place, 10 min drive from the sandy beach at Calheta and by the way wonderful dinning options in the marina her
