But at the same time, enjoy the proximity and convenience of the Village of Geneseo and the college campus just minutes away right up Reservoir Road across the street from the driveway! This is a coveted spot for family vacations, combining a visit with your student with a fun lake holiday, or a girls' or couples' getaway any time of the year. Its' location also makes it an ideal place to hang your hat for exploring local wine tours, Point-to-Point races, and Parents' Visiting Weekends. The cozy cottage, just shy of 1,000 square feet includes 4 queen light-filled bedrooms and 1 full bathroom, an updated eat-in kitchen, fully equipped (except no dishwasher), cozy family room with flat screen tv, basic cable and wireless internet, opening to an old-fashioned but newly furnished sleeping porch, with a daybed perfect for afternoon naps or curling up with a good book, and a couple rocking chairs for enjoying happy hour cocktails or morning coffee with the very best view of the sunrise! One level living! A few steps down from the porch lead you down to the lake front, seasonal dock, small patio and fire pit. There is a door in the kitchen leading down a few steps to the basement and washer/dryer and to a door which leads out to the patio. There is ample off-street parking. Summary: We enjoyed ourselves very much! Great location and views. The cottage could use a little TLC. The steps off the screened porch are worn and probably should be repaired or replaced. All in all we had a great time!

Summary: This place is booked solid all summer for many good reasons: it’s on a beautiful part of the lake, affordable, very accessible, tons of parking, big lawn, close to town if you need stuff, has FOUR bedrooms plus a daybed on the porch, and it accepts pets! Our dogs loved it. It’s clean and cute as a button inside for the most part but it has some drawbacks. First off, the back porch windows and screens need a major overhaul, they are falling off/apart, need new tracks, we struggled to fix them all week, my husband is handy, but it was a headache. The shoreline is so overgrown with shrubs that there is no beachfront for wading, the stairs to the water and dock are old, rickety, narrow and more than a little dangerous especially, at night keep your wits about you. There’s no dishwasher which I expected but also there were no basic amenities like dishsoap, paper towels, TP, not even salt and pepper. Also Bring fans if you want to stay cool as no A/C, we had to make a Walmart run. Need to bring your own bed linens and towels too. There was Bare minimum in kitchen plates, cups, utensils, etc…we made do fine but luckily we brought our own wine opener. ;-) Bathroom is tiny. I found myself saying “quintessential” a lot, it is such a sweet and homey place but just needs a bit of TLC. However our “kids” are in their 20s now and everybody felt comfortable and made the best of it. Views are really awesome and we enjoyed some nice campfires and made new memories together. Thank you!!

Summary: Had a great time at the cottage. Would be better with a second bathroom. Roomy cottage for 1000 Sq. ft. Sunroom was great. Great views down the lake. Moon was beautiful every night.

Summary: This was our second year renting this cottage for the July 4th week! Both times have been great! A second bathroom would be good but overall we had a great time!!!

Summary: What a marvelous and comfortable cottage this is!! Everything you could need is there, even a kayak! The lake is steps away, the owner amazingly helpful and very responsive to any issues, which were all mine, not the cottages!! The bedrooms are spacious and with four of them, our kids could all come visit as well. The cottage was clean, roomy and exactly the piece of heaven that we needed!! Highly recommend a stay here- hope to be back next year!!!
