4 Bedroom House in Tappahannock

Lands End Lodge on the Rappahannock River comfortably sleeps eight on two levels which makes it the perfect choice for a family vacation or reunion or gathering of friends. The first-floor bedroom and adjoining full bathroom is ideal for someone who may be challenged by stairs. The second floor has three bedrooms, including the Master and two full bathrooms. TVs are available in the living room, as well as two of the bedrooms. There is also a DVD player. There is internet but because of location it is slow(streaming not recommended). . This home was recently updated
with brand new kitchen items (cookware, glassware, flatware, and dinnerware) as well as new bedding, sheets, brand new deck, balcony and floor covering. Just Painted and NEW Furniture in Family Room! New King Bed in Master. Other amenities include a gas grill, picnic table, beach chairs, full size hammock and chairs & sofa on brand new covered porch. At the Lodge, there is room for everyone to do what they like. Perhaps the cozy reading corner is where you will find yourself curled up in the comfy chair with the latest novel while you have unobstructed views of the Rappahannock River. Gather with family and friends at the large farmhouse table (seating for 8) and 3 bar stools for a meal prepared in the fully equipped kitchen. It is only a short drive into town to partake of any of the local restaurants – Burgers, Italian, Mexican or Seafood – or to do your grocery shopping. Check out the lovely gift stores and antique shops. Play eighteen holes at the Hobbs Hole golf course; drive an hour north up to historic Fredericksburg or George Washington’s birthplace; an hour south you will find yourself in Williamsburg. Richmond is an hour to the west. This area is also home to several wineries nearby.

Summary: Dawn was a very accommodating host. She generously decorated for Christmas! The house is in a very rural setting with several tidal flooded roads in route. Well stocked kitchen, nice back porch with lots of seating, calming river views. Rugs and furniture dated; abundant kitschy rivah/crabs/shells/light house decorations. One note, the two queen beds in primary bedroom are really for family sharing, not friends sharing. The primary bedroom could be super if it had a king bed, updated lights with working ceiling fans, and a more modern bathroom (very high mirror in bathroom is unusable).

Summary: My husband and I traveled to Virginia to visit family and truly enjoyed our stay at the house. The property was so quiet and listing was exactly as advertised. We enjoyed the back porch, all the squirrels and even saw a deer. There were no neighbors when we were there so felt like we were on our own little island. Definitely would recommend, especially for a larger group, the house had plenty of room. Dawn was super responsive!

Summary: From start to finish our family enjoyed a wonderful experience at Land’s End Lodge. The location was perfectly peaceful and the amenities (linens, appliances, kayaks, comfy porch furniture, and wood for fire pit) provided just what we needed. Dawn was quick to reply to my texts and super helpful. The saddest part of the week was having to leave!!

Summary: This was our 7th year staying at this property. We have loved having our family vacations at this conveniently located property. Close to shopping, grocery stores and restaurants. The house has pretty much everything you will need for a relaxing stay on the river. We are sad, due to local regulations, we won’t be able to use this property for family trips. We are considering a girls only trip because we so enjoy the location and the comfort of this property.
