Positive: When I booked the cottage, I hadn't scrolled through all the photos, which included the stunning ruins of Talley Abbey. What a sight to see from the premises! I also loved being able to walk through the field, past the lake, and across Talley Rd. to the farmhouse that sells delicious eggs (chicken and duck) on the honor system. (You can see the farm from the window of the room with the double bed.) Loved: having a nice bottle of brut Prosecco, Welsh cake, and ample tea bags and coffee left for us; the sheep that appeared nearly every morning; great WIFI/TV reception/apps available. Also loved: proximity to Llandeilo with it shops and ancient forest; nearby Carreg Cennen Castle with stunning 360-degree views of the valley below (also a nice gift & tea shop on the premises).
Negative: The refrigerator freezes items that are pushed to the back, so maybe the temperature needs adjusting. GENERAL NOTES--This has nothing to do with the cottage or "dislikes", but here are some pointers we learned whilst traveling in Wales. Many shops refuse to take £50 notes as they're often counterfeited; many small proprietors prefer cash in general. And when using satellite navigation, CAREFULLY PLAN YOUR ROUTE! Sometimes the apps take you down extremely windy, hilly, narrow, hair-raising roads that could be avoided if you visually map out your trip rather than plug in a destination.
Summary: Wales is beautiful, the Welsh even more so.

Positive: Loved the location, very peaceful. I wanted to invite my mum down from Edinburgh but not to Swansea where I live as its busy and noisy. The cottage was very nice and cosy. Everything we needed was provided even though I brought my own towels and washing up liquid.
Negative: We couldn't work out the tv but I brought my laptop so it didn't matter.
Summary: Very peaceful location for an escape break.

Positive: The location was amazing, the Abbey ruins wonderful, the cottage, cosy and comfortable, clean, well equipped, Llandeilo is beautiful, easy access to the cottage and key pick up, the little extra touch of a welsh Bara Brith lovely and went well with the bottle of prosecco, wood for the open fire thank you for a fabulous stay.

Positive: Absolutely stunning and peaceful location on the abbey ruins site. Beautifully decorated with lovely touches like hot water bottles, logs for the fire and filter coffee. Beautiful views over the countryside and lakes, secure garden for the dogs as well as lots of different walking routes right on your doorstep.
