2 Bedroom Cottage in Bedford

In its prior life, our cottage was a local dance pavilion, with a train running past several times a week. The railroad tracks have since been removed and grown over and the pavilion, transformed into a lovely cottage for your stay.
Dunnings Creek runs right along our property, so you can enjoy a day of fishing or kayaking! ( we hope to be able to offer kayaks soon). Later in the summer, the water is warm enough to play in. We often have bald Eagle sightings, deer leaping through the yard, as well as other wildlife.
Some local sights and attractions include Flight 93 National Memorial, Shawnee State Park, Raystown Lake, Old Bedford Village, Jean Bonnet Tavern, Bedford Springs, Lincoln Caverns, and numerous Covered Bridges. Most weekends over the summer, Bedford Fairgrounds plays host to various car races. Summer also brings the Farmer’s Market to the town square on Wednesdays.
Come spend the weekend or the whole week! Relax, unwind, and let your worries melt away. Have a meal (or 2) on the screened in porch, hang out by the fire pit and make a s’more or sit along the creek bank and enjoy the view.
Mobility Issues*** There is 1 step up into the kitchen/ dining area and 1 step down into the bathroom, if you have mobility issues, please be aware of this. There are also 3 steps up onto the porch to gain access to the cottage.
The cottage is approximately 4 miles from the PA Turnpike, Route 30 and I-99, we also welcome guests that are just “traveling through” for a night.
Cottage was just redone and offers a fully stocked kitchen, a decent selection of DVDs and some board games. There’s a grill to throw your burgers or steaks on as well!

Summary: Facility was clean. It is an older building but fairly well maintained. The owner lives only a few feet away. Very quiet neighborhood, which was want we wanted. Having the creek and the fire pit nearby was very nice. However, the junked cars on the neighbor's property do not add to the ambiance.

Summary: We were initially surprised that the cottage was so close to the owner's house, but it really was not a problem. The cottage and porch were immaculately clean, and the kitchen was very well stocked. There were even snacks and cold drinks awaiting us! The beds were comfortable and there were fans in both bedrooms to supplement the A/C. There were LOTs of towels in both the kitchen & bathroom. The 2 steps in the cottage are slightly higher than standard and it takes a while to get used to them, By our 2nd day there we were more comfortable with them. We thoroughly enjoyed mornings and evenings on the screened porch. The view to the creek was very peaceful and the grounds were extremely well maintained. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

Summary: The hosts were super kind and helpful. The cottage had great beds and linens, cute decorations, a stocked kitchen, great shower pressure, and much more. It was a quiet & peaceful property. We especially loved the farm animals nearby and beautiful, country fields. It was a great stay to enjoy the festival.

Summary: Comfy and clean cottage. Melissa was a great host. She was available if we had questions or needed anything. The decor is welcoming and quaint. We loved the screened porch and big yard leading to the creek. Beds were super comfy! One item to note- the shower wouldn’t be ideal for a taller person. It was fine for my daughter and I though. I would love to come back here in the summer to enjoy the creek and fire pit.

Summary: We had a great time ! The cottage is so cozy and clean and we had everything we needed.We fished the creek and caught some nice rock bass.We had a nice fire in the fire pit.Very quiet peaceful place . We will be going back again for the 3rd time in the future !Loved it!❤❤❤
