A completely restored flat in one of Reykjavik’s “funkis style” houses ( one of the first architect designed residential houses in a planned neighbourhood), located in a quiet residential area, yet less than 5 minutes walk from the main shopping street in down town Reykjavik with numerous restaurants, bars and shops in the area. The house is typical of the area and is clad with what can best be described as lava like concrete coating for protection against the elements.
Reykavik's main museums, galleries and harbour (in case you want to go whale watching) are all within 5-20 minutes walk.
Our favourite seafood restaurant, Humarhusid (the lobsterhouse) is only about 15 minutes strole down the main shopping street.
10 minutes walk down to the seafront, 15-20 min walk to Öskjuhlíð where you can see all over Reykjavik and further.
The flat is less than 5 minutes walk from the local grocery shop, pharmacy and the central bus station.
The flat is less that 3 minutes walk to an indoor swimming pool
The flat is decorated and equipped to a high standard.
The flat is heated by underfloor heating controlled with wall-mounted dials.
The flat is entered from outside, down steps through the entrance door which leads to a tiled hallway.
The kitchen is fitted with electric hob and oven, fridge and microwave. There is coffee maker and all main kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery.
The bathroom has a large walk in rain shower, fully tiled with a wide sink and large mirror.
The bedroom has a queen sized comfortable double bed.
The open plan lounge has a sofa bed which converts to a double bed, comfortably sleeping two adults. The lounge is fitted with a 50inch smart TV and two tall wardrobe units with hangers and drawers to accommodate your clothing and luggage.
The flat has wooden flooring throughout and tiles in kitchen and bathroom.
From the hallway there is an access door leading to a shared wash room equipped with a washing machine and fold-out clothing line to dry your washing.

Summary: I thought the extra pillows should have pillow cases on them . 3/4 roll of toilet paper , no extra .Other than that . It was walking distance to everything.

Summary: it was the perfect place to stay as we were up and out early to see the the fantastic sites that Iceland has to offer. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. We had everything we needed, the place was clean. would highly recommend

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy apartment! Our host was very thoughtful with the little touches, like a fully stocked kitchen and great storage. We drove on this trip, but it was close to the bus line and within walking distance of our favorite pool and bakery. We would stay here again, for sure.

Summary: Overall, I'm happy with the stay, but did have a few things that made it a bit less than perfect. The location is perfect for walking into the city. The street parking is free and was never an issue to find. The flat itself was nice, it is in a basement/somewhat underground level, so there are stairs to the entry door. No issues getting into the flat, communication was great and provided in advance. I walked in to find a used washcloth (I assume from the cleaning crew) on a dining room chair. The first night we showered the flat got so steamy, we had to open all the windows to vent it, we were provided info that opening the windows does help with moisture. However, I'm certain the in floor heating wasn't working in the kitchen, because that floor was always cold, so windows were closed most of the time and only opened them for showering. The bed was ok, it wasn't the best for us, and the pillows were flat as cardboard. The first night, we didn't realize there were extra pillows for the pull out bed in the living room, so we slept with one flat pillow each. Once we found extra (no additional pillow cases provided), it did help a bit, but those were also very flat. Washing machine was a nice perk, plenty of space for your belongings; no kitchen towels provided (cloth or paper), no shower soap, only shampoo bottles - overall, we made it work.

Summary: Overall we enjoyed our stay, however the flat was lacking the basics such as hand soap, Paper towels, hand towels, wash clothes and a bath matt. More kitchen utensils would have helped when cooking.

Summary: We had a lovely stay at this apartment, July 11-20, 2024. It is centrally located and we had very easy parking for our rental car, Close to shopping, resteraunts and sight seeing. We really liked the apartment. Bus stop 11 for tour buses is just around the corner and a few blocks down, about a 10 minute walk. I highly recommend the apartment. Ulli was very good at communicating with me and made our stay very easy. Thank you, Lorie

Summary: We enjoyed our stay. Comfortable and fairly well stocked, ample street parking. No real issues. You do hear a bit of street noise and occasionally the guest in the flat above. I had a little difficulty checking in as I couldn't find the attachment showing where the lock box was, luckily the clean crew was there for the above flat and showed me.
