An amazingly adorable direct waterfront cottage on the beautiful Shenandoah River. You can't get any closer to nature than this! Romantic and secluded with plenty of privacy. Relish the best of both worlds... like camping along the river, but with all the amenities of home. Home features a large deck that extends out over the water complete with rod holders and spot lights for some night cat-fishing. Enjoy sitting around the fire pit roasting marshmallows for s'mores, or maybe hanging out at your personal screened-in tiki bar. Wake up to full water views in the master bedroom suite with a queen sized bed and attached to it's own romantic bath with an original claw-foot tub. The second bedroom is quite cozy and has it's own powder room and also a private deck for morning coffee. There are tons of things to do and places to see around this area. Virginia's wine country is just up the road and features a dozen or so vineyards beginning within about a 12 minute drive. You will need to visit the historic area of Harpers Ferry for some great history with civil war museums, shopping, restaurants, pubs, and cobblestone streets. Hollywood Casino and horse track in Charles Town, WV is roughly 15 min away. There's horseback riding, zip lining, white water rafting, tubing, canoe and kayak rentals all within a few short miles. The list goes on and on. Many of my guest float just across the river and down stream a bit to a boat and tube rental company (River Riders) which will allow you to pay them to ride their bus upstream with your own tube. That way you can float back to the house! Pretty cool huh?! Well this is my full time home. I keep it very nice, neat and clean, and only rent it here and there. Check out my pictures and availability... it truly is a gem and a must see. You will want to come back year after year.
This is my home. I do not have or charge for a cleaning service and guest are required to return the property to its original condition upon departure. Dishes must be washed in put back in place, bedspreads neatly back on beds, bathrooms cleaned, floors vacuumed and swept. All trash removed. Leave nothing behind. A cleaning checklist is provided. Summary: The property was immaculately clean and tastefully furnished. The grounds were whimsical and well maintained, with picturesque views of the Shenandoah River. The owner goes out of his way to ensure that guests have an enjoyable stay. My husband and I are sure to visit this lovely, getaway again, soon!

Summary: We had a fantastic week! It was great to be right on the water. The house is adorable and set up well for guests. The hammock was my favorite place to relax! There is an active quarry and a railroad track across the river, so we heard quite a few trains and the drone of machinery but we didn't mind it too much. We're would definitely stay again!

Summary: Our second time back and the place is still amazing. From the well equipped kitchen to the fishing pier over the Shenandoah, we entertained and reconnected with our kids and grandsons as they visited for a few days each. Neon Moon is a wonderland of lighted trees and shrubs at night. So many areas to enjoy like the fire pit for roasting marshmallows, the band shell with its bar and high top tables, the screened in porch where we relaxed and dined while enjoying the cool breezes. Great fast WiFi. Professional grade Sony Bluetooth speaker for music. Top of the line gas grill and a smoker. In short, all the amenities we could want for a lay-back relaxing week.

Summary: We spent a week at this amazing property and had a great time. When we arrived it was even nicer than shown in the photos. My kids had a great time fishing from the deck and caught plenty of fish!! We are already looking forward to going back next year and would highly recommend Neon Moon to anyone who is looking for a nice, relaxing and clean place to stay. The only negative I can give is that the roads when you get close to the house are narrow and not in the best of shape, but hopefully they will be repaired. Just go slow and watch for the potholes and you will arrive fine.

Summary: Everything about this home is absolutely breathtaking, both inside and out. My husband and I were looking for a private place on the river for a vacation getaway with my mother in law and her husband. This house had so much more to offer than we could have ever wished for. There are so many different areas on the property to hang out which include the Neon Moon Cafe, the screened-in porch, the dock which sits directly over the river, the tiki bar, etc. The historic town of Harper’s Ferry is a must see. Also, There are several outfitters for kayaking and/or tubing within 20 minutes from the house. We brought our own kayaks and used one of the outfitters for their Shuttle service. We definitely plan on returning in the near future.
