Located in the Historic Lower Garden District, in a safe and eclectic residential neighborhood. It is about a 2 miles/15 minutes to the French Quarter, and 12 miles/25 minutes from the Louis Armstrong Airport. We keep everything comfy, cozy, and clean. After an all day exploration of New Orleans you will come home where you truly can relax and regenerate for the next day.
Our home was originally built in 1919 with many historic details kept in tact since it's renovation. It is a type of two-address duplex with a layout called a "Shotgun" style home in New Orleans, also called a railroad or walk-through apartment in other regions. It is newly renovated and features 12 ft ceilings, crown molding, original hardwood floors, original brick fireplaces and mantels, original pocket doors, large windows, and plantation shutters. From the front porch you can see the tower of St. Mary's Assumption Church, and hear the bells chime on the hour in the distance.
Once inside, enjoy a parlor with streaming entertainment on demand, full kitchen, office space, 2 bedrooms with queen size beds, 2 full bathrooms, shared backyard, WiFi, central A/C and heat. You can rest easy at night knowing that the property has 5 outdoor surveillance cameras, sensors on all doors and windows, indoor motion detector, and 24-hour monitoring service, as well as monthly pest control service.
The home also includes a whole house, natural gas, generator in case of an electrical outage.

Summary: It is hosts and properties like this that make short-term renting a joy. Excellent communication and care taken with check-in and throughout our visit. Everything is well thought out for an easy stay. The location is perfect, close to Magazine, and easy street parking.

Summary: My husband and I enjoyed 6 nights at Iwona and Kirk's great Garden District shotgun. The actual home was well represented on the add and was very well appointed. We actually cooked Thanksgiving dinner for New Orleans family and Iwona and Kirk were very generous with helping us with a few extra's that we needed to cook the meal. They were easy to reach and comfortable and friendly to talk with. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. A nearby friendly neighbor who sat on his porch a lot even seemed to look out for us! I would highly recommend a stay at this VRBO and will consider it for our future New Orlean trips. Chuck and Sandy

Summary: This was our fourth stay with Iwona and Kirk and we feel more at home every time we return. We highly recommend choosing them as hosts for many reasons; their home itself is immaculate and the location far enough from the busy French Quarter but close enough to get there quickly for a stroll at any time of the day😀

Summary: This was right around the corner from our son, so the location was perfect. We spent very little time there so hard for me to say more. Maybe a little noisy with construction next-door, but it did not bother us. All good!

Summary: We visited as a family trip and this location was prefect. Close enough to the attractions but far enough away to have quite and safe nights at the house. The house was spotless and well decorated. Every detail was taken care of. We defiantly want to come back soon!
