Located just 15 Miles from Galena, Illinois, our cabins in the woods can be your home away from home while you enjoy Galena, Chestnut Mountain, hiking, wineries, and all the other amenities Jo Daviess County has to offer.
When you stay at Homestead Hideaway, you can simply relax in our cozy rustic cabins, or get out and enjoy everything the area has to offer. At Homestead Hideaway you can expect a tranquil feel and a stress free retreat. The cabins are located in a beautiful rural area where it is perfect to have a cup of coffee or tea in the mornings and enjoy the wildlife. Let our cabins be a place to unplug from the world and help ensure you have a relaxed and secluded stay. We have fiber Internet, but do not have cable TV.
We have two historic cottages located on the property and three separate rentals. The cabins are located on opposite ends of the property. You can enjoy the seven acres of wooded area by hiking or taking your dog for a walk. Whether you are planning a romantic trip to Galena, a golfing trip, a couple’s getaway, a wine lovers weekend, or skiing at Chestnut Mountain during the winter months, Homestead Hideaway will accommodate to your needs.

The Gleneagle Suite is our honeymoon/weekend getaway suite. It is a studio style rental. It is the bottom unit of our cabin with the Seven Sisters Suite. It has a full kitchen, living area, dining area, bathroom and a full size bed in a studio style setting. The sofa in the Living area is a sofa sleeper --so this rental could accommodate 4 guests.
The top two levels of this cabin is our Seven Sisters Suite which is also listed on VRBO #623038 & our other cabin on the property is listed as the Brimeyer Cabin vrbo #624141
Though cell service can be spotty, there is fiber internet.
We have passes available for ACL Nixon beach (15 minute drive) and ACL pool. Open memorial day- labor day each year. You must speak to host prior to arrival for information. You must have tags and parking passes for these amenities and there is a fee from security deposit IF YOU LOST TAGS
